Great relaxing location

The B&B is located in a very quiet and relaxing area in the forest. It is close to Dunsborough which has many restaurants etc. The hosts were great providing us with plenty of information in regards to restaurants etc. in the area. There is a nice sitting room between the 2 rooms that has a large TV and multiple movies to choose from along with some port and chocolates. The breakfast was fantastic with multiple choices to suit any size of appetite complete with an assortment of home made jams and preserves. Would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a peace full setting.

Thanks so much for such a positive review. We are so thrilled you enjoyed your stay in our region. It's really what our "job" is all about - enhancing your experience of the area. And it would seem that we succeeded there. Thanks again and we look forward to having you back soon.

Don’t like owner as she’s too much and wants your money before you even arrive

Not impressed; look elsewhere for more value for money and less hassle from owner. Breakfast good but I would expect that for the money we paid. Had to ask for more loo roll, beds not made(read manual... more money?) bit silly really

I must say I was very disappointed to read your review considering how much time and effort I put into trying to help you get the best out of your overseas visit (which is what I do for all our guests anyway). I hardly think "hassle" from the owner is the best description when YOU were hassling me (even when I was overseas on holidays) asking me to book wine tours, restaurants etc etc - which I did for you, no questions asked and no cost despite I had to make the effort to contact the places whilst overseas in order to keep you happy!!
Re this whole scenario regarding the money/cost issue you are complaining about. Firstly you have to realise that Yallingup is THE most expensive area to stay in. Our rates are in line with other "like" 4* properties but we feel we provide more in customer service which you described as "hassling you".
I first made contact with you asking you if you were aware you had booked the Room Only (no inclusions) rate as advertised on Booking.com (seeing that you were coming from the UK I thought this was odd) and also the fact we get quite a few "bookers" who simply hone in on the cheapest rate not even reading into what they have booked.
When you realised you were not getting anything except a Room Rate you realised your error and were only too glad to pay extra for the breakfasts. This is clearly stated on Room Only bookings (that a la carte breakfast is available for an additional $25pp/day, and I assure you that you would not get a breakfast like this in a café for this price). This is not something I had "sprung" on you. I told you this upfront and it was your choice to add it in. All we asked was that you pay us in cash for the breakfasts as it had nothing to do with your B.com arrangement.
In fact there is actually 3 prices - a Room Only rate which we've discussed, a full price which includes afternoon tea, daily a la carte breakfast, daily quality chocolates and evening port. And then those who don't want the full 'deal' can opt to pay extra for the breakfast which is what you did.
Your room was serviced daily (and I sincerely apologise that on ONE day of the three you stayed, we did inadvertently forget to check if there was a spare toilet roll. Heaven forbid we are human too!!. You could have asked for one which you did anyway). If the roll looks like it is getting low we change it anyway.
And, we do ask guests to please read our folder for any other info we may have neglected to mention (like where the extra pillows are etc). In that folder it tells you that we do NOT make the beds daily BUT we are happy to do so if you prefer. We do tidy the bed but we don't make it daily. You made no effort to mention this in the 3 days you were there. I know a lot of B&Bs that don't even service your room daily emptying bins and replacing amenities like fresh milk, chilled rainwater, tea & coffee etc - so you got better value for money than in most places
Your review sounds like you had a terrible time here and yet your Comments on our Guest Book do not indicate this (and we do not ask guests to write in it either). And I quote:-
"Thanks for a wonderful relaxing stay and great hospitality. The Wine for Dudes winery tour & Blue Manna Bistro both really great. Many thanks again. Polly & Tony"
Well, that's interesting isn't it???? I leave prospective guests to make up their own minds here.

They cancelled my booking

I booked a room online and received a text the next day telling me to cancel it as I could not book for 1 night. Very rude and abrupt and when I did not action immediately they cancelled my booking for me. Not a place I would ever consider again.

I must say I was surprised by your so-called "review" in that it should have been aimed at booking.com (seeing as their software allowed your booking to come thru when it was not available as a 1 night booking - I have a strict 2 night minimum on all weekends) and not mine.
In fact as it was coming up tp Christmas, it then went into a 4n min. I did apologise for the fact that your booking was even accepted by them. It had nothing to do with me. I initially gave you the option of staying an extra night which you refused so I was then unable to accept your booking which I thought I had explained. I certainly was not rude or abrupt. As an owner of a highly regarded B&B which speaks for itself here on this Forum, I would never be rude to potential guests. I fact I am never rude to anyone. What is your clarification of being rude? Being honest and upfront in giving you the information as to our booking policies??
The reason I cancelled your booking from my end was to release the room ASAP for someone who was genuinely looking for a Xmas vacancy. However, this does not release the room from B.com which has to be done by the person making the booking which is why I ASKED you nicely to cancel it your end.
You can't always have things your way. I could have charged you the Canx Fee seeing that you made an incorrect booking in the first place (this was backed up by my Channel Manager who can see WHEN the room was booked and what the policies in place were at that specific time) but I didn't seeing it was neither your fault nor mine.
If you don't want to be caught out again, I suggest you book direct with the chosen property in the future.

Many thanks for a great review. We were so happy you enjoyed the whole concept of our B&B i.e a peaceful adult escape from the busy world outside. And we really enjoy treating our guests to an amazing a la carte home-cooked breakfast with my special homemade jams - it really does make a difference and we're thrilled you enjoyed it all.
We look forward to your return soon.
