Good budget accommodation in Scamander

I stayed in the budget cabins at the Scamander Tourist Park. There are larger , more expensive, luxury cabins available also, but the budget cabin was more than adequate for my needs . My cabin had a double bed and three bunk beds , an en-suite shower and toilet , cooking area with stove, microwave, kettle and toaster , and a full sized fridge. Very clean . The cabin had a verandah with a small table and chairs for sitting outside. An air con for heating/ cooling also. check in was easy, management friendly enough though there was no further interaction. Park is situated near a grocery and petrol station . No views of the ocean from my cabin , though you could hear the waves at night. Park internet signal was unusable at my location. Good value budget option at $99 per night .

No happy with this park

This park is in a nice position. I rented a powered site. Price $50 per night. This is not budget as advertised. Is on a par, cost wise, with a lot of van parks in Tas. Do not come here if you have a mobility issue. It is hilly. Whom ever designed the ablution block (first one up the hill) had no thought for impaired mobility. The staff were not overly helpful in assisting a disabled person with a site near to the ablution block. Whom ever did the electrics was not very intelligent. This is one of those parks where you got to pay $1 for a shower. The stupid electrician fitted the coin box outside the shower cubicle not inside, as is the case with other vans parks I have visited in Tas with a similar system. Paths are not level and the entrance to the male ablution block has a steep cement incline, not suitable for wheel chairs or mobility impaired. Maintenance of the ablution block, hmmmm! What maintenance? This is a park where little is spent on fixing problems, from gardens to cob webs to door, to gutters, to paint, to untidy paths. Not happy Jan!!

Good value comfortable accommodation

Stayed 3 nights in aa cabin. We self catered and it was convenient for that. The cabin is large enough, clean and comfortable. It had all the appliances we needed.
Though we found it strange that glasses, utensils, and dinner plates didn’t match. Something so simple to rectify.
Wifi was also spasmodic or non existent in the cabin.
Overall a pleasant stay and good value.

All ok , bit basic but safe and small .

Positives , close to beach , not much noise on site or from road . Friendly .
Lodges have a big deck and decent design , but need a bit of a revamp 8n some areas ( broken shower holder , tiny tv , lots of cutlery missing) .
From previous reviews , unpretentious, basic facilities , relaxed all seem fair comments
Biggest downside was wifi was very poor . .

Great, relaxed venue!

This was our first time as a family camping in our caravan and we had such a lovely time here! It was comfortable, relaxed, clean and tidy! The powered caravan sites were a great size for our car, caravan and gazebo. The price was spot on too! We genuinely liked it so much we booked our next trip
In before we left! Give it a go!
