Perfect Patonga

We liked the ambience and we approached one of the staff who turned out to be Manager Kari who was so helpful we decided to stay for one night, wish it could have been longer.
The room was large clean and well prepared and the hotel restaurant was excellent.
The location is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Beautiful spot

Patonga is quiet (except for the pub) and the hotel is immediately opposite the beach with great views to the sea.
We stayed in apartment 1. Friendly checkin. Up stairs to apartments 1 and 2.
Massive apartment. Large main bedroom with ensuite. Bedroom 2 is smaller but quieter (less pub noise). Living areas are very large and the balcony has plenty of space.
You can order food and drinks using a QR code in the room and the staff will bring it up to you. Great idea and handy.
The apartment has a laundry and tiny kitchen. It’s beautifully furnished with quality and everything you need. Kitchenette is basic but fine for what we needed. Some breakfast supplies was a pleasant surprise.
The staff will reserve a table in the restaurant for you (which is a perk of staying here. I don’t believe the general public can do that.)
There’s a fair bit of noise from the downstairs pub but it shuts at a very reasonable hour and all is quiet (except for the waves lapping the shore) until the breakfast crowd arrives between 7 and 8. It may be much quiet mid week.
Outdoor parking opposite or in the laneway at the back.
Very pretty place for a weekend away or maybe even better as a mid week escape.

Accommodation great, food opposite.

We booked apartment 3 with 3 bedrooms at the Patonga hotel and it is lovely right on the beach with clean, breezy accommodation. However the food at the hotel is abysmal. Salad dressing like toilet cleaner, chicken burger and prawn linguine (actually stuck together tagliatelle) was inedible. I’m astonished people eat there, I’d love to show them real food like Hugo’s in Manly. Absolutely brought down our trip, no wonder they don’t display the menu in the apartment, it’s probably a big hint. Book the apartment, enjoy the ferry to Palm Beach, chill but by God, bring your own food.

Dropped in for a beer

Ok probably the best location for a meal and beer on the waterfront of the Hawkesbury River. First thing the drinks are expensive and the meals are up there in price but food wasn't great would go back for a beer.

Fish n chips .. a thick greasy batter with v little fish inside, chips good, so disappointing

Setting is pretty, décor excellent, No one seemed to be overseeing the staff who were going in all directions
The food was so disappointing .. fish n chips were inedible, chips were good! The green salad was fresh.
