Good Christmas Break!

Have been visiting Hamilton Island for about 3 years now but usually stay on a yacht as we often sail when we're there - Stayed at 'Anchorage 8' during the week before Christmas - Nice, clean, one bedroom apartment with a large lounge area and a sofa bed for sharing with kids or a second couple etc.. Bedroom has a large spa bath which we didn't use it - Well appointed kitchen, has a washing machine and dryer and good strong Air con (useful with the humidity at that time of year!)
The complex pool is nice and private with a shallow section if you've got young kids... Hardly anyone else seemed to use it which was good for us.
We used the buggy provided (Which I believe is part of the 'Hamilton Island Holiday Homes' buggy pool system) and found no issues - Something to consider is that this is a ground floor apartment, useful for older people or those with a kids push buggy etc as only a couple of steps to access...
The price at this time of year was just under $600 a night (Chistmas period!!) - For new year we stayed in a hotel on the Sunshine Coast which cost double that and Anchorage 8 was much, much better by comparison...
Will recommend and likely book again :-)

Really nice and large apartment, with a really nice location, lovely pool and garden (with wallabies and numerous birds). The complementary buggy was a plus! However.. There were BIG holes in the fly screens (that we actually read about in a review where they got a huntsman spider inside. And it was still not fixed when we arrived. Bring duct tape) The WiFi only worked for a few hours and when we told management they only sent a mail with the password, so not the problem. It was never fixed, so we had limited 3-4G reception and no streaming. Thus except for the total lack of communication and fixing the issues our stay was great!

Scrap yard buggy, absolute rip off false advertising

Buggy a death trap looked like been in crash not repaired, broken horn, rusty seatbelts & covered in mould!! Apartment poorly cleaned, right next to bottle bank, broken kettle lacked basics amenities such as tea bags & milk despite rates of $600 a night!! Very disappointed, absolute rip off and no solutions offered spoilt our holiday of a lifetime misleading photos & advertising of road worthy buggy!!!

Comfortable and spacious apartment

We stayed here over the school holidays, family of 4. Apartment 1. Spacious apartment, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms perfect for adults and teenage kids. Lounge room was spacious. We were there 10 nights, needed a proper full size oven for a long stay. Our washing machine didn’t work, they didn’t offer an alternative, so make sure you check all facilities when you first get there. Beds were uncomfortable, probably due for an upgrade. The ground were well maintained. There is no seating around the common pool area.
