Good location for Dubbo Zoo

We stayed two nights June 26, I booked a few weeks before and had the option of drive through site or standard site. I picked standard site, the standard sites are a little bit tight to back in and get the husband wife backpacking in argument going. Should have got the skinner drive through sites, much easier with a little less room for the awning. I did see a few double axle vans on the standard sites but loosing a bit of tread doing sharp turns. Maybe the standard sites should be for 18ft of less and single axle. Apart from that a really good park with excellent clean facilities, good camp kitchen, bouncing pillows, kids water activities for warmer months, the best camp kitchen I have seen, the have a food van on site for burgers and taco stuff.

Discovery Parks – Dubbo
154 Whylandra Street, Dubbo, NSW, Australia
We booked a cabin through Wotif this week and spent one night at Discovery Parks – Dubbo.
One thing to keep in mind is that the reception opening hours may be inconvenient if you are arriving after 5 pm, as the reception closes early.
What I liked:
The grounds and greenery around the cabins are very well maintained.
The park was quiet, even though all the cabins appeared to be booked.
Food is available inside the park. There was a food van selling hot dogs and burgers during our stay.
Separate swimming pools for adults and children. The pool area is fully fenced and feels safe.
Children's playground.
Free Wi-Fi.
Free parking.
Secure, gated grounds.
Different types of cabins are available, including cabins that can accommodate up to six people.
Each cabin has a small terrace with a table and chairs.
Our cabin had two double beds for the children and one queen-size bed.
Two TVs — one in the kitchen/living area and another in the children's bedroom.
Our cabin had its own toilet and bathroom.
The kitchen facilities are very useful for travellers: a two-burner stovetop, refrigerator and microwave.
Kettle with complimentary coffee, tea, sugar and salt.
Toaster.
Pans, crockery and cutlery were provided.
Our cabin was spacious enough for a family.
There are also facilities for people travelling with caravans and campers.
What I didn't like:
Unfortunately, cleanliness and hygiene were the biggest problems during our stay.
The standard of cleaning was very poor. The floors, windows, bathroom, shower screen, lamps, bathroom sink and some of the pans in the kitchen were dirty.
Hygiene standards were disappointing. For example, I found the toaster stored in the cupboard/bin area intended for rubbish, which I found quite unhygienic.
The tap water in the kitchen had a very strong chlorine smell, which made it unpleasant to use.
The pillowcases and bedding did not smell fresh and appeared not to have been changed before our arrival.
There seemed to be an excessive use of strong cleaning chemicals or fragrances in the cabin. More chemicals do not necessarily mean a cleaner or healthier environment for guests. The smell was so strong that it made sleeping uncomfortable.
Only a very small amount of dishwashing product was provided. Considering the price of the accommodation, the supplies felt unnecessarily limited.
The cleaners entered our cabin at approximately 9 am, even though the official check-out time was 10 am. Guests should be able to use the accommodation until check-out time without feeling rushed.
Overall:
Discovery Parks – Dubbo has many positive features: attractive and well-maintained grounds, good facilities for families, secure parking, swimming pools, a playground and practical cabin facilities. The park itself has a lot of potential.
However, the cleanliness and hygiene of our cabin significantly affected our experience. At AUD 239 for one night, I expected a much higher standard of cleaning, fresh bedding and better attention to basic hygiene.
For us, the price did not match the standard of service and cleanliness provided.

Don't stay at discovery parks dubbo

Nice park but people who run it show little or no interest in any issue. Last night my husbands $3000 electric mountain bike was stolen it was locked to the draw bar of the van. There are large gates so people must have access code. Reported to police. The check in person is not at all interested in looking at the camera footage. Found out this morning from others that bikes and even a car have been stolen from here. It was chained and locked. Apparently all the parks have this issue. It's terrible that the people working here just don't care. I would not recommend staying here if you do put extra locks on everything

The entire cabin was on a lean. All the water in the shower ran towards the back wall & then leaked out into the rest of the room. Cabin itself was okay, but concerning in regard to the foundations etc.

Not every child traveling with adults is a young child . We had our teenage son whom is 6’3 and he couldn’t fit in the bunk beds the only bed option supplied other then parents bedroom .
Would be great to offer alternative bedding options for older children
