Very comfortable stay

My Father and I travelled to Canberra to watch a sporting event and go to the new extension of the War Memorial.
When traveling we prefer to have interconnecting rooms as it is much more convenient. Normally I will book via the ALL App however this time I called and spoke with a wonderful lady that was extremely helpful and ensured we had the room needed.
Upon check-in there wasn’t any available parks out the front so we parked in the back carpark but had issues getting to reception as we didn’t have a key to get through the doors.
For the overall check-in experience it was ok. My Diamond Loyalty wasn’t mentioned (which is normally standard during check-in) however we were provided the map of the property and given the general information required.
We had booked a Standard Room however I believe we were upgraded to an Executive Room. Overall the room was very spacious, had an updated bathroom and the wooden furniture within the room kept with the style of the hotel.
We ate breakfast at the hotel all three mornings and then had dinner twice during our stay. Sunday morning breakfast had several issues but I spoke directly with the F&B Manager Troy about this. Monday & Tuesday breakfast were fine and Phoebe kept that buffet and tables and ensured everything was taken care of.
Overall we enjoyed our dinners at the restaurant. There was a great variety of food to choose from. My only negative was that the chicken & chorizo risotto needed more flavour. It was very bland. Our schnitzels and steaks were perfect.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Mercure Canberra. It was very comfortable and we would stay here again.

Holiday with the fur babies

Great location close to the city centre and walking distance to the War Memorial.
Family and pet friendly good size room especially with the 2 fur babies.
Good value for money the room had a good size secure count yard for the pets attached to our room.
Clean and didn’t smell like other pets have been there.
Friendly staff and amenities were nice.
