A Lovely Stay at The Oceanfront

My husband and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary at The Oceanfront in Cairns, and I must say, we were both very pleasantly surprised. We are not ones for fancy hotels, but the staff here made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The young lady at reception even helped carry our bags, which was so kind.
Our room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view that reminded me of holidays we took years ago. The renovations are clearly still underway in parts, but it didn’t bother us one bit — everything we needed was there, and the staff were apologetic about any inconvenience, which we appreciated and the location is wonderful for a stroll along the esplanade in the mornings. We will certainly be back next year. Well done to the team there!

Awful. Do not stay

Please DO NOT STAY!
We booked for 5 nights and complained as soon as we saw the room. We have checked out after 1 night.
No hot water, no WiFi, the hotel is a building site as it is currently undergoing a refurbishment.
The hotel staff were amazing, to say I was utterly devastated would be an understatement.
Ironically, my request for a refund has been declined.

Stay far away!

The worst hotel I've ever visited!
The hotel did not live up to our expectations at all, actually it should not be an option to book this hotel. One of the rooms was not clean at all, the other was mold, water damage and huge hole in the wall and the third room was nasty. The pictures are not close to what you get, so do yourself the service, to find another hotel.
The hotel is NOT close to being a 4-star hotel, it should not even be able to get 1 star - as it is directly harmful to health to stay in their rooms. The hotel has even changed its name three times, which is not even under control. Fairly enough you want to renovate the hotel, but when it is in SO bad condition, it must be done first before letting people book in.
No wifi, cold water and nasty towels and lawns.. besides, I also don't think their carpets have been in the vicinity of a washing machine for months, for it stinks far away of mold.
We booked out after one night, got a little refund from the booking but nothing from the hotel itself - surprise, they have to spend people's money on renovation.
So overall, this place is a HUGE scam! Stay far away.

Place is in renovation. Room need more than paint to be update. Investment in AC is required but they will get there. Great location by the beach and I like the small coffee van in side of the hotel. Good to have a chat and great coffee.

The best part of this accommodation is the fabulous view to wake up to every day and an easy walk into town along the esplanade path.
