Initially was going to give it 1 star across the board because I had a terrible check in. However, Whalid/Waheem was fantastic in taking over from the staff member I was dealing with before and being extremely professional, efficient and knowledgeable. I think the whole reception front desk would crumble without his dedication to his job and being so good at it. The hotel is located at an amazing location for tourists where you are close to so many of the attractions within walking distance. Also the hotel room I had was much nicer than the ones I saw in photos.

A truly excellent stay with very helpful reception staff.

We had an excellent 2 night stay at The Assala Hotel at the end of our 19 day trip around Algeria. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We were given a very large and comfortable suite ( room 301) with a small balcony . It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and even had a kettle and mini bar.
However, I would like to comment on the reception staff who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was difficult to find a taxi so they even provided us with their own courtesy vehicle to take us to and from the shopping mall.
We had a very reasonable lunch in the hotel restaurant and were allowed a late check out as our flight was not until the evening.
The young man in reception speaks good English and his lady colleague was also most helpful so I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
A big thank you to all concerned.

Run away!

1) While we had a confirmed reservation since February, on arrival the incompetent service announces that it is sold out but that we can take a suite + expensive, well let’s see! Then in front of the e-mail I put in front of him, hop, a room is available!‍♀️
2) the rooms are extremely noisy
3) the rooms are far from nickel (see photos)
4) The sheets are made of very unpleasant polyester
5) the shower smells like piss
6) there is no mixer in the shower (or sometimes is mounted upside down) result you are alternating scalded or icy
7) Wi fi does not work
8) we asked for 2 days to change rooms to try to have calm, it was only possible on the 3rd day
9)the incompetent receptionist does not even know that museums are closed on Friday and Saturday. I remind you that you work in a HOTEL, not a bakery, so make a minimum effort or change your profession or shut up
the only positive: the restaurant staff: welcoming, professional, smiling and the food is good for breakfast as well as dinner

Neat city centre hotel

The usually somewhat cumbersome check-in process was quick and unproblematic. The spacious and clean room has a nice modern bathroom, but this is only had a very basic equipment. The tiny window went onto a dark courtyard. For one night: no matter. Decent evening buffet (natural) without alcoholic drinks. Convenient breakfast buffet.

Nice, comfortable, very clean hotel, just a short distance from the center of town and sights of interest. Staff were friendly and helpful, but perhaps not entirely accustomed to dealing with tourists. Wi-fi in the rooms wasn't as strong as it could have been. Overall, though, a good choice.
