Everything was perfect

Great experience and good hospitality. Mauricio and the staff are always attentive and available. Good breakfast and excellent restaurant. Clean and spacious rooms, hot water, and wifi.

JUNGLE FEELING AT the Shala River

Even the journey there was an experience in itself. Just as described in the travel guide, everything began with the expected chaos at the ferry station. In the tunnel, nothing was moving anymore; cars were stuck in all directions, and in the end, there was only the option to walk to the dock.
There, pure adventure reigned: People were running in all directions; no one seemed to know exactly which boat was the right one. Somehow, in the end, everyone managed to board – hoping to eventually reach the desired destination.
The 1.5-hour ride across Lake Koman was scenically impressive, even though unfortunately a lot of trash was floating on the water. But then came the moment that made up for everything: the entrance to the Shala River. Crystal clear water, spectacular rock landscapes, and pure nature – simply breathtaking.
Over pebbles and with a strong jungle feeling, we finally made our way to the Livadhi Guesthouse. A wooden bridge led to the lodge, which added even more adventure character to the whole experience. The staff was numerous, friendly, and always eager to make the stay enjoyable.
Our room was cozy and built rustic-style from wood. For the two of us, there were four beds ready – in case we wanted to spontaneously form a travel group. Additionally, there was a nice balcony with a view of the stunning surroundings.
The bathroom had its own unique charm: The toilet seat was a bit wobbly, the handheld shower was more decorative than functional, and after showering, the bathroom reliably turned into a small indoor pool. But to be honest: Who cares about that with this backdrop?
The restaurant and breakfast were very good; there was absolutely nothing to complain about here. The beautiful surroundings, the relaxed atmosphere, and the great staff more than make up for minor weaknesses.

Conclusion: If you are looking for luxury, you may not be in the right place here. If you want to experience adventure, nature, and one of the most beautiful landscapes in Albania, you will love the Livadhi Guesthouse. I would book again at any time.

Wonderful staff and good food

Fabulous staff, great food and comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our 3 nights here, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. It's lovely to stay over after the day trippers have gone, so that you can really appreciate the beauty of the place with fewer visitors.

Relaxation on the River

We came here for a few days in September and despite being the end of the season, we loved it. All the staff were very accommodating- especially Alex, thank you! Can’t fault the location and the breakfast was a highlight. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing few days in Shala River️
