The best campsite in south Albania
Right next to the sea The sea cave camping offer you tents icluded maitres pillow and bedsheets. The toilet was always clean and shower with hot water . Waking up with the beach right outside your tent . The best camping ever we have been .The tents was comfortable to sleep and relax . We definitily recomend .

WORST EVER
After traveling across Albania for several weeks and staying in numerous hotels, guesthouses and campsites, we can honestly say this was by far the worst place we experienced.
The location next to the sea is beautiful, but unfortunately that is the only positive thing we can mention.
The first problem came when it was time to pay. Although prices are displayed in euros, the owner insisted on charging us in Albanian Lek using his own exchange rate, which was far from the official one. As a result, we ended up paying considerably more than expected. During our entire trip through Albania, this was the only accommodation that did this.
The campsite is completely inadequate for the number of guests. There is only ONE toilet for men and ONE toilet for women for the whole campsite. Long queues were common, and people often had no choice but to use the opposite bathroom because they simply couldn't wait any longer. There are also only two sinks, and one of them was broken, leaving everyone to share a single working sink.
The "BBQ area" is little more than a few old rusty barrels. It looks neglected and unusable. We never saw anyone actually using it.
The official website advertises an "Open Kitchen", which was one of the reasons we chose this place. When we asked where it was, the owner simply said it didn't exist. After showing him his own website, he argued that because we booked through Booking.com we had no right to complain. The funny part is that his own website redirects customers directly to Booking.com to complete the reservation. Advertising facilities that are not available is, at the very least, misleading.
There is also almost no place to relax or sunbathe. Only a very small area is available, enough for just a few people despite the number of guests staying there.
The bar and restaurant are heavily overpriced considering the quality and what is actually offered.
What truly ruined our stay, however, was the owner's attitude. Throughout Albania we met incredibly kind, honest and welcoming people. This was the only place where we felt the exact opposite. Every conversation seemed to revolve around money. Instead of trying to help guests or solve problems, the owner was dismissive, argumentative and unwilling to accept any responsibility.
We almost never leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. Future travelers should know exactly what to expect before booking. For the same price—or even less—you can find countless accommodations in Albania with better facilities, honest pricing and owners who genuinely care about their guests.
Without any doubt, this was the biggest disappointment of our entire trip.
We would never stay here again, and we cannot recommend it to anyone.

Our Favorite Camping Experience in Albania
We had an amazing experience at The Sea Cave Camping in Himara! We actually visited three times this summer because we loved it so much. The first time we stayed just for one night, but the experience was so wonderful that we decided to come back and spend our entire one-week vacation here.
The location is absolutely perfect – peaceful, surrounded by nature, and with direct access to a beautiful private beach. It feels like a hidden gem where you can truly relax and enjoy the sea.
The camp is run by a lovely family, and they are all incredibly hospitable and kind. Mario, the host, was especially welcoming and friendly, always making sure we felt comfortable. The overall vibe of the place is amazing – so calm and peaceful – and we felt deeply connected to nature during our stay.
Another thing we really appreciated is that the camp has clear rules that everyone respects. Quiet time is from 11:30 PM to 8 AM, which allowed us to sleep peacefully every night. I personally felt very safe here, which made the experience even more relaxing.
We can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Himara in a unique, safe, and welcoming environment. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Perfect week at Mario!:)
In advance: We only wanted to stay one night and stayed a whole week of our 3-week trip to Albania:
Mario, his family and the whole team are incredibly warm, helpful and always in a good mood. You feel welcome from the first moment, almost like part of the family.
The campsite itself is a little paradise: Calm, relaxed, without the usual hustle and bustle – just the thing if you want to switch off. The guests are just as pleasant, here there is a great, respectful atmosphere.
A real highlight is the private access to the sea – crystal clear water, never crowded, just fantastic. There is plenty of shade under the trees on the course, perfect for hot days.
In short: If you are looking for peace, nature, family hospitality and the sea right outside the door, Mario is the right place. We will definitely come back – and can highly recommend this place to anyone!

A peaceful paradise by the water
The Sea Cave Camping is an absolute treasure! Nestled right by the water, it offers breathtaking views and a truly peaceful atmosphere. While there’s no direct beach access, you can swim straight from the cliffs, which feels like a private adventure. The campsite is small, simple, and run by the sweetest family, who put so much love into everything they do.
The facilities are basic but always clean, and the whole place has a warm, cozy charm that makes you feel at home. Compared to the busy beaches nearby, it’s wonderfully quiet and relaxing. There are free sunbeds available, perfect for soaking in the scenery.
The food is a highlight – all homemade by the family. We had one of the best fish dishes we’ve ever eaten: incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Prices are fair, especially considering the quality and setting.
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with genuine hospitality and amazing food, this is the place to be.
