UN PLAISIR DE SEJOURNER AU DAR DIAF CHERAGA

L'hôtel est de style arabesque, très joli et typiquement algérien. N'est pas central à Alger, il est plutôt dans le district de CHERAGA, pas très loin de BENI MESSOUS. L'accueil est très "amical". La chambre qui m'a été octroyée était vaste, claire et très bien décorée. Dans l'ensemble l'hôtel est calme - peu de va et vient - C'est au moins la 3ème fois que je séjourne au DAR DIAF, et c'est toujours avec le même plaisir. C'est l'équivalent d'un 3 étoiles en France.

GOOD

Relatively good hotel, good location, fairly comfortable room,
friendly and smiling staff, and the catering remains average.
the two negative points are the lack of elevators and the soundproofing.

Back Blocks Algiers

This is out of the way to say the least but I was there for five days and had no complaints. It is a somewhat rustic and antiquated place with staff who try hard and were always accommodating. If you are walking around town it is a bit out of the way - about twenty minutes walk to get down to the Casbah. Walking back to the hotel at the end of the day is an uphill haul though! If you are looking to be immersed in the local scene this place is ideal. Head west a short way and you are in the middle of stalls, a community that loiters around the mosque, and roadside shops and workshops. The rooms were spacious though overheated - air circulation was bit of a challenge, though not as much as the bath/shower combination. It was neither bath or shower so a daily scrub was a problem solving/intelligence test.

Perhaps we just got lucky but...

Delayed flight meant we got in late..very kindly set us up a plate of veggies, cheese and meat with a basket of fresh bread. On our return a week later it was holiday weekend, and they cooked meals for us even though we were only one of two or three couples staying over. Waiters are accomodating and generous. Our room each time was quite comfortable. They even moved the wifi router so that it would work better in our room! We'd certainly stay again.

Malheureusement nous avons passer un très mauvais séjour. Car nous avons eu le sentiment de se faire arnaquer. Les prix sont au niveau d'un hôtel de luxe. En arrivant on se rends compte que toute les installation sont en supplément, le wifi est inexistant, la télé ne fonctionne pas, la nourriture est exécrable et la localisation est pas du tout avantageuse pour visiter. De plus l'hôtel n'a pas de charme particulier.
Le seul point positif c'est l'amabilité du personnel.
Je ne conseille pas du tout à part si vous aimer être arnaquer
