Driving around Mombasa Airport
The A109 dual carriageway, the main road link between Mombasa and Nairobi, passes the airport. Be very careful driving here: it's widely regarded as one of Kenya's most dangerous roads. The majority of roads around the airport are small single carriageways. We recommend choosing a car hire package that includes a sat-nav system, to avoid getting lost. If you're planning on driving in the national parks you should choose a car with four wheel drive. Traffic in Kenya drives on the left, just like in the UK, which makes things slightly easier.
