Caltanissetta is a 81.3km, 1 hour 40 minute drive from Comiso Airport and can be reached by joining the SP5 from Comiso Airport for 6.8km before turning on to the SS115 which you follow for 113km to reach Caltanissetta.
Caltanissetta can become very congested particularly during its famous Holy Week celebrations. There is plenty of paid parking available on the outskirts of the city and a new 1,800 space car park has been completed at Caltanissetta’s new shopping centre, the KALT CENTRE. Sicily operates a coloured parking zone system and it’s recommended to check which zone you are in before parking. White is for residents with parking passes; yellow for loading and offloading and blue indicates metered parking is available.

Agrigento

Formerly one of the largest cities in the known world, Agrigento is the location of Sicily’s most impressive Greek ruins with an exceptionally preserved Doric temple the main landmark of the city. The centre of Agrigento is still lively today and with its medieval buildings, shops, trattorias and bars the city presents a charming blend of the traditional and contemporary.
Comiso Airport is a 119km, 1 hour 50 minute drive from Agrigento and can be reached by joining the SP5 on exiting the airport and following the road for 6.8km before joining the SS1115 to Agrigento for 101km directly into the city.
Parking can be difficult in the narrow streets of Agrigento. If you wish to visit the Greek ruins, plenty of parking is available for around €2 for a day. The city follows Sicily’s parking zones with white for residents with permits, yellow for loading and blue for general metered parking.
