Salt Lake City International Airport is a civil-military airport in the United States of America. It is located some 6.4 kilometres west of Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It is owned by Salt Lake City Corporation and operated by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports, serving the Northern Utah area and beyond. The airport resides at an elevation of 4,227 feet / 1,288 metres above mean sea level.

What to see & do

Discovery Gateway - Discovery Gateway is an interactive, hands-on children’s museum in downtown Salt Lake City. Formerly the Children's Museum of Utah, it contains over 60,000 square feet of exhibit space in the large open-air retail, residential, and office complex called The Gateway. Discovery Gateway features permanent exhibits, rotating exhibits, and programs that cover science, art, and the humanities. The museum also has a chemistry outreach program for every fifth grade class in the state.

Utah Museum of Fine Arts - The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) is the state’s primary resource for culture and visual arts. It is housed on the campus of the University of Utah, near Rice-Eccles Stadium. The state art museum features works of art on a rotating basis. It also offers family, adult, and children's programs, as well as informative guided tours and hands-on art projects, films, and lectures.

Utah's Hogle Zoo -  Utah's Hogle Zoo, located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, is a zoo that houses animals from diverse ecosystems in a 42-acre site. Renovations of the zoo are paid for by the city's tax dollars; hence all exhibits must be passed by voters. The current exhibits of Utah's Hogle Zoo are Elephant Encounter, Asian Highlands, Rocky Shores, and African Savanna.

Liberty Park - At 80 acres, Liberty Park is the second-largest public park in the city. It contains a pond with two islands and is home of the Tracy Aviary. The park includes the Isaac Chase Mill, and the two are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Public facilities in Liberty Park include restrooms, playgrounds, play areas for children, picnic areas, concession stands, a swimming pool, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and bocce ball courts, a jogging path, seasonal amusement rides, and more.

Public transportation in Salt Lake City, Utah is operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), which consists of buses, a light rail system, and a commuter rail line. The light rail system, TRAX) has three lines: Blue Line from Salt Lake City Intermodal Hub to Draper in the south, Red Line from the University of Utah to the Daybreak community in South Jordan, and Green Line from the Salt Lake City International Airport to West Valley City via Downtown Salt Lake City. The commuter rail system is called the FrontRunner, which runs from the Intermodal Hub through Davis County to Pleasant View. Furthermore, Salt Lake City is also a bike-friendly city, using the Green Shared Lane, the first in the United States.
