Its new parking regime is complicated, the app is frustrating and it genuinely distracts from a lovely place to relax and unwind. Have to constantly top up the stay. Which is a pain but when there is so little phone coverage is positively annoying.
Shame, as it’s really put us off and changed our thoughts on using it for work and leisure going forward.
Staff are utterly lovely, professional and friendly.

Fur Coat No Knickers
Firstly after checking in we found out most of the lights and plug sockets in the room didn't work, after contacting reception the solution was to jam 3 x room keys in the card reader next to the door. Reception/concierge seemed to be aware of this issue, why wasn't it addressed prior to arrival?
Part of me wished the lighting issue wasn't fixed as once the lights were turned on it uncovered the absolute filth that covered the room. Just look at the photos and see for yourself, how on earth is this acceptable of a 5* hotel? It isn't. Parts of the room clearly hadn't been cleaned for months, cobwebs, dead fly's, dirt and debris all over the place.
The lack of cleanliness wasn't isolated to the room, the spa is unfortunately in a sorry state. There were bogeys and hair on the walls in the steam room, the outdoor pool is in dire need of refurbishment with it's cracked tiles, mouldy grout and rotten window frames.
Ultimately I think the Bath Spa Hotel can be summed up as "All fur coat no knickers", it's a stunning building but unfortunately that's the only thing it's got going for it.
As a returning customer it's been an incredibly disappointing experience, I won't be returning again & I'd suggest anyone that's considering staying here look elsewhere.

Unexpected disappointment
The grounds were nice and well kept and great for some quiet time in the afternoon or evening.
The room was pricier, but given how they looked in the pictures, I thought it would be worth splurging on. The pictures did not fairly represent the state of the rooms. The room was dated. The window would not close all the way, which resulted in a continuous draft in our room. The air conditioning did not work the first night we were there. There was not electrical near the bed, which is more of an annoyance than anything else.
Additionally, the toilet did not seem to be properly secured to the wall.
From a location perspective, it was only about a 15 minute walk to the Roman Bath area, so that was nice.
Overall, for the price of the room, I would not recommend staying here. There are other hotel options which would probably be better in Bath.

Enjoyed a touch of old fashioned glamour
Staff are friendly and helpful
Position is 20 minutes walk into centre
Need to pay for car park on arrival
Breakfast can be slow so just relax! Food Very good selection
Comfy beds and pillows. Nice toiletries. Bath tones and towels
Spa facilities are a little worn out. Outdoor hot pool needs a good clean and refurbishment which should be happening soon
Some areas need a lick of paint and a deep clean but overall a wonderful stay in lovely hotel with splendid gardens with plenty of outside seating.
Excellent location
