Historic town once home to Henry the Navigator, featuring boat trips to the best caves and lagoons eroded from the limestone cliffs. Don't miss the Golden chapel.
Lagos is one of the most pleasant cities in the Algarve. A nice marina, beautiful city center with small squares, a medieval wall surrounding the center, one of the most beautiful beach in the Algarve ( Dona Ana) is also located here. A lot of reasons to include this place on your Algarve tour.
Lagos is a lovely town, especially the old part with it's cobbled streets and squares. Well worth a visit with it's more sophisticated shops, restaurants and marina. Take a trip on a speed boat ‘rigid raiders’ as they are called, from Lagos Marina to visit the dolphins in Lagos Bay. Really good fun! Coffee or lunch on the marina is really nice. Or lunch on the beach at Lyndas Bar if you are getting fed up with Portuguese food, they do very good clam chowders and burgers.
If you want sun, sand and a small beach town, Lagos is perfect! It's small but cozy and has a few interesting finds. It's got historic landmarks, great weather and a relaxed atmosphere.
