Head to the westernmost tip of the Algarve (cabo espichel) to see an awesome sunset (take a jumper as it get windy) from the cliff top, then descend to the other side to each a great meal watching the moon light up the night sky. A must do experience.

Good place to visit, especially if you like to fish with a sense of danger as fisherman stand on the edge of cliffs.

The visit of the two fortresses and Sagres cliffs is a must have for a first trip to Algarve. Seize the opportunity to visit some spots on the Vicentine Coast, for example the beach of Carrapateira (follow direction of Vale de Bispo and Ajelzur and turn at Bordeira). It is worthwile to walk there and watch surfers....

This is by far my favorite town on Portugal's southern coast Algarve. Not overly developed which many parts are, the beaches are small but surrounded by dramatic rock formations. Make sure to visit Cabo de Sao Vicente which is about a km out of town and is the very western point of Portugal. Standing here on these towering cliffs has a wonderful "far from the madding crowd" feel about it. I actually slept out here in my sleeping bag a couple nights - glorious!
