A nice little hotel with very friendly staff

We spent 3 nights in a junior suite in December as a couple and were very pleased. Both the room and the terrace with Jacuzzi met our expectations. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Every request was answered promptly.
We were particularly surprised by the breakfast.

Check in - the desk doesn't operate 24/7, and even during its hours of operation, they aren't always in. the main door is locked and there's an access code. I had to wait few minutes outside until someone showed up.
Accessibility - although the place has an elevator, it doesn't stop on all floors. my room was on the 1st floor and I had to carry my suitcase up the stairs.
Location - it is in the center, but not right where all the action is. it's about 10-15 minutes walk.
the room - was nice with a little kitchen. the only thing - it had a little step going into the bathroom. so you should be careful at night when it's dark.
Gym - the description says that the place has a gym. all they have is a bike, treadmill and a simple multi station. having a gym on site is crucial for me, and when I search for a hotel, I filter the results based on having a gym on site. unfortunately, I couldn't workout on their "gym".

One major disadvantage

Location: ideal, 500m from the Acropolis
Reception: cordial
Bedding: very good
Room: very decent
Breakfast: with local touches
One downside: the hotel is not soundproof and is located at the intersection of two major avenues...constant and loud noise...

Location was perfect, just a short walk from many popular tourist attractions.The staff were incredibly helpful and always ready to assist with any questions or requests.

STAY AWAY

We paid almost €800 for just two nights and were extremely disappointed with our stay. The room and facilities were in unacceptable condition:
• Housekeeping only came every two days, so the bed was not properly made.
• The bed had only half a slatted base.
• The shower was dirty and clearly not cleaned before our arrival.
• The terrace was full of hair from previous guests.
• The jacuzzi was unhygienic, with dirt and an oily layer floating in the water.
• Doors and windows were smeared with marks from former guests.
• The terrace flooring had loose slats, which is dangerous.
• The refrigerator door did not close properly.
• Several electrical outlets were loose and unsafe.
We even spoke directly with the manager about these issues, but instead of taking our complaints seriously, she simply laughed at us. This level of service is shocking and completely unacceptable.
For the price we paid, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here.
