Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYC)

There are two main airports in Toronto, the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), and the much larger Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Almost all long-haul flights from Australia will be directed to Pearson Airport, and this is a modern and well-equipped facility. Expect to find a pharmacy, foreign exchange counters, concierge services, ATMs, free WiFi, plus a huge list of eateries, from sit down dining, fast food eateries and snack bars. You will also be able to browse duty free shops and high street retail outlets.

At around 30km from the downtown area, the airport is well connected to the city centre.

With buses, trains and shuttles all offering transportation services between the two. Taking a taxi is an efficient way to get into town, but can cost around 50-60CAD ($50-60).

· From later November through to February, the winter sets in and it gets extremely cold, with lows of around -7°C.
