Discover Stockholm Arlanda

Open for commercial travel in the 1960s, the Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) has grown into the largest aviation facility in Sweden and functions as an important international flights hub in Europe. This airport now sees over 20 million passengers transit through its doors each year, and if you are flying to Sweden from Australia it is highly likely that you will be directed to Arlanda. Situated less than 40km from the capital of Stockholm in the south, and the riverside city of Uppsala in the north, this is a convenient airport to fly into.

There are four terminals in total at Arlanda, but these are number as 2, 3, 4, and 5. You’ll find that terminals 3 and 4 are generally used for domestic flights, whilst 2 and 5 are reserved for international routes.

The airport is pretty modern and has a comprehensive range of facilities, such as free WiFi throughout the terminals, several computer kiosks, a post office, and mobile phone charging stations. If you’re feeling hungry while in the airport, there are lots of different types of restaurants, from sit-down dining types to fast food outlets, as well as a number snack bars. You can also keep yourself amused whilst in transit by browsing the many shops that are clustered in SkyCity, including a great duty-free area. For your banking needs, there are two full-service branches, as well as ATMs, and foreign exchange counters. Other extras include a medical centre, a hairdresser’s, a gym, and a pharmacy.
