Driving around Newman Airport
Traffic in Australia drives on the left, so that's one less thing to worry about before getting behind the wheel. The Great Northern Highway (Perth to Wyndham) passes the airport. The Pilbara is a very rural region, mostly desert, so it's important to be prepared. Choose a 4x4 or SUV if you're planning on going off-road, and if you're planning on driving for a few hours always bring a bottle of water with you. It might be worth choosing a car hire package that includes a sat-nav system.
