What to expect when hiring a car from Toulouse–Blagnac Airport
To return to the airport from Toulouse city centre at the end of your trip, simply follow signposts for Bordeaux, Auch, and Blagnac via Allée de Barcelone. Follow signs for Bordeaux at the junction with the A620 and join the A620-E9. Upon reaching junction 31, turn right onto the A621 heading for Blagnac. Take the right-hand lane at junction 2 signposted with Aéroport Blagnac, Grenade onto D901. The airport is situated off junction 4.
Petrol stations near the airport include Esso stations at 9 Avenue du Général Compans, 31700 Blagnac and at 2 Avenue Edouard Serres, 31770 Colomiers. There is also a Station-service TOTAL at 5 Avenue Groupe Morhange and another at 104 AV GDE Bretagne.
Driving around Toulouse–Blagnac Airport
In order to rent a car in Toulouse you will need to be over 18 years old and must present the following: a passport and a driver's licence. You will also need some level of fearlessness as driving in Toulouse can be tricky. Avoid driving in the downtown area if you can and you should be fine. Getting to your destination
Albi is a charming small town listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Attractions include the Albi Cathedral, formally the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cecilia, Musée Toulouse-Lautrec, and The Berbie Palace.
A road trip from Toulouse should take about an hour. Take the A68 motorway, arrive at the town by the RN 88 dual carriageway, and take the exit for Le Sequestre. Follow the sings for Albi-Université, Albi centre, then cœur historique.
Carcassonne is divided into two parts: Cité de Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed medieval forest settlement, and ville basse, the town centre. Other attractions include the Torture Museum, Festival de Carcassonne, Basilique St-Nazaire, and Château Comtal.
To get to Carcassonne from the airport, you can take N126 and A61.
Ariège is a city in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France. It is a great day trip as the views are stunning and there is a wide variety of outdoor activities available. Points of interest include the famous castle of Montsegur, known for its bloody history of the Cathar massacre, various caves, and Grotte de Niaux.
