If you're approaching from the north the nearest petrol station is in Moisio, about five minutes drive from the airport. The town is just off the E63 motorway. If you're coming from Turku there's a Teboil on the E-63, about eight minutes drive before reaching the airport exit.

Driving around Turku Airport

There are a few busy motorways near the airport. The E63 (Sodankyla to Turku) passes the airport before meeting the junction with the E18 (Northern Ireland to Russia) just outside the city. It's important to know exactly which exit to take. Choose a car hire package with a sat-nav system if necessary. Traffic in Finland drives on the right-hand side of the road, which can take a while to get used to if you rarely drive abroad.

Getting to your destination

Finland's oldest city and first capital is packed with history and culture. A youthful spirit infuses the town, which has a buzzing arts scene and lively student nightlife.

It takes just over ten minutes to drive into downtown Turku from the airport. Roads can get quite busy during rush hour, and it can be difficult to find parking spaces in the city centre. There are some good underground parking lots in central Turku, and parking prices are reasonable.

The charming old town and Muumimaailma (Moomin World) theme park draw plenty of people to Naantali during the summer months: even the Finnish president enjoys holidays here.

It takes just over 15 minutes to drive to Naantali from Turku Airport. Moomin World has its own Park & Ride car park, so you can leave your car and get the bus directly to the theme park gates. No public parking is allowed in Naantali Old Town. On-street parking is regulated, with charge hours visible on local signs. If no hours are displayed, fees apply at all times. Some areas require you to use a parking disc to show what time you arrived in the space. Parking discs can be picked up at Post Offices.

UNESCO listed wooden houses, rich seafaring history and a plethora of lively summer festivals make Rauma a tourist favourite.

It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to drive to Rauma from Turku Airport. Parking spaces in the town are free or require you to use a parking disc.
