Things to do in Tokyo

Delve into Tokyo’s history by heading to Chiyoda and walking the grounds of the Imperial Palace. The palace itself is closed to the public, but the surrounding parks are lovely, and it is definitely worth a stroll. Then head on down to the Tokyo National Museum and learn about the city, and the country’s past in this excellent museum.

If you are interested in seeing some beautiful Japanese architecture, take the time to go to 7th century Senso-ji Temple. This is one of the city’s most spectacular temples, and its oldest. Make sure you also drop by the Meiji Shrine, which sits in over one hundred acres of forest and parkland in the middle of the city.

When you are done, why not go to Harajuku or the Ginzo District to get a little retail therapy. You can also dip in and out of fancy restaurants or trendy bars that line this neighbourhood. Then sticking to the more modern theme, why not see the National Museum of Nature and Science? Or head to the wonderful Ghibli Museum that holds exhibitions and displays on the most popular animation studio in Japan.
