Train travel has just entered the chat. You can now find rail journeys on Skyscanner.
Book your train travel with Skyscanner
Big news from the rail-side: you can now search and book trains on Skyscanner. No extra tabs. No extra faff.
Flying’s great when it fits, but for some trips the train comes out on top - you can enjoy scenic views, packing as much as you want, and breezy boarding.
Also, rail emissions per passenger kilometre are typically around one-fifth those of air travel. Emissions from electrified passenger rail can be even lower, particularly when powered by renewable electricity.
If you're thinking of taking the train instead of a flight for your journey, you can do it with us.
One search. More options. Zero fuss.
More ways to get where you're going
Trains are live and testing on Skyscanner — starting with select routes in the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and South Korea. You can search up to 90 days ahead, and these routes could be visible to you if you are accessing us from Europe, Asia or Australia.
We’re expanding, so keep an eye out, as we'll be adding more routes soon (yes, we’re train geeks now too.)
How it works
When a train’s a smart fit — usually under eight hours, direct or with a quick connection — it’ll show up just beneath the top flight results. You’ll see journey times, prices and routes all side by side, so you can choose what works best.
Step 1: Search for your destination
Search for your destination as you would normally on desktop or mobile web (don't worry, app support is coming soon!) You don’t need to know the train station, just put in a city or your airport of choice.
Step 2: Scroll the results
One-way and return journeys are available on select routes in the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and South Korea. So if there is a train route available, we will surface it along with flight options, so you can make a direct comparison and select the one that works best for you. If that's a train route, simply click on the train result card to see more options.
Step 3: Open the side window
The sidebar will open with providers travelling along this route, along with their best prices.
Step 4: Complete your booking
You can view even more options by clicking on “View more on Trip.com” where you can book your next train journey. Trip.com partners with major rail operators like Scotrail, Eurostar, Renfe, Iryo, Trenitalia, Italo, Deutsche Bahn, Korail, Ouigo and more.
Please note, train tickets on Skyscanner are only currently available for purchase in the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, South Korea, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
