A Thoughtfully Curated Home Away From Home in Buziga

I was introduced to this facility by a long-time friend who encouraged me to visit and inspect it—and she was absolutely right.
What immediately stood out is the unique location.
The property is tucked away in the quiet hills of Buziga, overlooking the wetland and Lake Victoria, while still being conveniently close to Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort and the famous Speke Marina.
I used Google Maps to get there without any difficulty.
Upon arrival, I was warmly received by the housekeeping team leader, who then handed me over to the two hosts of the house for a full tour.
From the very beginning, it was clear that every detail has been thoughtfully considered—from the flooring and room décor to the bathroom amenities and even the naming of the rooms, which reflect both local attractions and nearby plant life in both local and English names
The property strongly embraces sustainability and local culture.
The furniture is locally sourced, and the wall paintings are done by local artists, beautifully reflecting Uganda’s heritage.
Each of the six rooms is uniquely decorated, emphasizing a strong local connection.
Some rooms feature balconies with stunning views of Lake Victoria, while the terrace offers inviting common spaces for guests, along with an on-site swimming pool.
In the living room, guests will find useful local resources such as Uganda travel guidebooks and bird guides, including the Munyonyo Bird Guide (Birds of Munyonyo)—a lovely touch for visitors interested in nature and exploration.
Guests can also book a Lake Victoria tour through the Ewaange Home team, featuring a leisurely boat cruise, fishing excursions, and island-hopping experiences, or opt for a guided tour of Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine, Murchison Fish Restaurant, and Ggaba Fishing Village.
A day trip to Serenada Eco Resort, located about 30 minutes across Lake Victoria, can also be arranged and combined with a stay at the home.
I highly recommend this property for business travelers, couples, or groups of friends looking for a peaceful and stylish getaway.
To top it all off, I was treated to a delicious lunch accompanied by authentic Ugandan coffee.

Best experience in Uganda

Unfortunately, we only had one night here and had to move on the next day. Next time, we will definitely stay longer. The place itself—with its furnishings, family-like atmosphere, and huge tropical garden—was simply outstanding. On top of that, we experienced the best service of all the hotels we stayed at in Uganda. The warm welcome, the service, and the friendliness were all 10/10. We would gladly come back.

Stylish villa with stunning views

We followed google maps which was a mistake as it was a crazy drive up into the hills on some very steep and challenging dirt tracks. There is an easier route thank heavens. Even so - totally worth it. The house is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and has lovely friendly staff. The beds were super comfy with crisp white linen. The view from our balcony at night was stunning. Hot shower, excellent pressure and a choice of 3 types of breakfast. We each chose a different one and all agreed that they were delicious. Having driven out of Kampala this morning I’m glad we were out of town in the suburbs - haven’t seen traffic and driving like this since India!

The house is very clean and confortable, and the staff was amazing. We feel at home and breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of options. They were very helpful with transportation and the view of the city was great. We ordered delivery for dinner and it worked perfectly.

יולי 2019, במסגרת טיול באוגנדה נחתנו בשדה התעופה באנטבה בשעות הערב המאוחרות.
מאחר וידענו שצפויה לנו נסיעה של שעה, חשוב היה לנו להזמין מהארץ מלון ברמה טובה אך לא יקר מדי, כדי לייצר לעצמנו "נחיתה רכה" באוגנדה, לפני טיול ארוך ומאתגר.
אחרי חיפוש ממושך מצאנו את ‪Ewaange - A Casa Mia‬.
המלון שייך לג'יימס, אוגנדי המתגורר במקום ולאשתו הלנה המתגוררת באיטליה ( לפחות נכון לשהות שלנו במלון). מקום מקסים ונעים הנמצא על גבעה בפרברי העיר ממזרח, משקיף על נוף מהמם של קמפלה העיר.
הכנסת אורחים רואיה לציון, עם כל הלב האפריקאי של ג'יימס בעל המקום. התעניין בתכנית הטיול שלנו ונתן המלצות טיפים ועזרה בכל מקום שהיה לו מידע עליו.
החדרים ברמה גבוהה מאד, מפנקים ונקיים.
היתה לנו חוויה מעולה ולכן גם חזרנו למקום בלילה האחרון של הטיול.
