This mansion is located in La Orotava, 7 minutes' drive from the beaches and 30 minutes from Teide National Park. It offers an outdoor pool, sauna and large rooms with a satellite TV.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel
We stayed in this stunning family run hotel for two nights. What a beautiful place
They only have 5 rooms. All named after the Canarian islands
We stayed in "Fuerteventura" which offered beautiful views of the coastline, Teide, the grounds and pool and the church rooftops
Lovely, comfy double bed, big bathroom, fridge with mini bar, plenty of wardrobes and a t.v
We were greeted by the owners son Adeje who took us to our room and then gave us a tour of this stunning building
Breakfast is self service, all you can eat. Fresh and delicious and Ricardo is on hand should you need anything (such as fresh coffee, hot milk etc)
There are tea making facilities available all day in a lovely little room which leads into the garden (including PG Tips!) and a few biscuits too
The owner, Jorge, was also on hand and very knowledgeable and friendly
Parking right outside of the front door
10 minute stroll to the centre of the old town with all its individual shops, bars and restaurants and the same, but in the opposite direction, to the visitor centre which is definately worth a visit
It's probably not the cheapest hotel in La Orotava but we thought it was totally worth it.
We are lucky enough to live in the South of Tenerife but being in La Ototava was like being on a different island.
Hotel Alhambra was just perfect, friendly, laid back, gentile and ecclectic

Great historical hotel with everything you need!
We had an amazing stay at this charming hotel, in a wonderful historical setting. I enjoy staying at such hotels more than at a cookie-cutter modern type hotels.
Everything was great - the room had plenty of storage space and especially the bathroom was huge.
The breakfast was delicious - the freshest food, again in a historical setting!
We took advantage of the sauna that is at this hotel which was very handy after a day's hiking.
The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Ricardo.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in all of the guide books, and there are many reasons why. First, La Orotava is a lovely town. Just 10 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz, but with a totally different ambience. PDLC is a high rise hotel tourist venue. When we saw PDLC it confirmed the reason we chose La Orotava for our stay. La Orotava is quiet and peaceful, without feeling like it was created for tourists. No high rise buildings, and a working town for regular people. So, my recommendation to anyone is to stay in La Orotava and take a taxi to PDLC for any dinners or sight seeing there.
The employees of Hotel Alhambra are stellar. We interacted with Jessica most frequently, and she was so pleasant and helpful, but everyone was great. When we arrived in La Orotava there was a festival and many of the streets were blocked and our GPS would not plot an alternative course to bypass. We called the Hotel and one of the guys there walked to where we had parked the car, jumped in with us, and guided us safely to the hotel.
Breakfast is extensive and wonderful selection is provided. The facility is beautiful, our room and bathroom were huge, and we had a view out of one window of Mt. Teide, and we could see the ocean on the other side of the room. Numerous seating areas are available indoors and outside. Free coffee and tea are available 27/7.
Here is a tip for those taking a taxi to and from dinner or PDLC. There is a busy taxi stand at the bus station just an easy 5 minute walk away (Estacion de Guaguas). You will find a taxi almost any time there. On the way back the drivers seemed unfamiliar with the hotel location, and so we just had them take us to the bus station, a location familiar to all. Very easy, no confusion, everyone happy!

Excellent place to stay
First time in Orotava and at this hotel. We were made welcome immediately and given lots of local information and guidance.. Our room was superb with great views and exceptional bathroom and extremely comfortable . Breakfast was plentiful with a selection that would suit everyone. The hotel has some parking Nd is very centrally placed. We look forward to returning and would definitely recommend to
others. Our special thanks to both Ricardo and Jessica for making our stay one to remember.
