Royal Isabela... DISCONNECT From Everyday Noise, CONNECT With Nature
I want to recognize the amazing experience in this magical place...
Everyone and I mean everyone was incredibly kind and they are all about service. The place is beautiful at day and spellbinding at night.
I upgraded my staying with my first yoga class with Nahomi at the golf course in hole 17, you got to see this to believe it. Make sure your class is at Hole 17 at 7 am, and thank me later. Nahomi is super sweet with a lovely energy that makes this extra special.
Then adventure comes in... I took the Kayak Ful loop and the Electric Bike experience with Jorge... Words can't describe these 2 adventures, please, please, please do them, and when you add Jorge's passion, personality and knowledge in both experiences it takes them to a whole new level.
The rooms are decorated in a warm way, that makes me feel at home immediately. Taking a bath there is an experience on its own. Just... WOW!!! I won't spoil it but take your time with warm showers.
The food in the restaurant: La Casa is Top Notch... is Really Farm to Table... the flavor is undeniable. The best bread and butter is made here... PERIOD!!! Just be aware that service is slow, don't go in a RUSH, anyway this is place to disconnect from everyday routines. I bought a book, order a nice cocktail and time disappears.
Noise level is just Perfect... NO NOISE HERE!!!
You don't need to get out of the property if you want to... but the location is very centric and you can go to other places in Isabela.
Oh, and I almost forget, you can take a private path from the hotel to Playa Pastillos. It feels magical just walking the Path.
I will be back... I was able to disconnect from everyday life, and felt recharged.

Stunning and Execeptional Experience
I can't say enough about how wonderful Royal Isabela is! From arrival to departure and everything in between, the experience was absolutely wonderful. As someone who often plans for adventurous outings, I found myself more than happy to simply relax and enjoy the gorgeous property. I would return here without question if looking to travel in Puerto Rico and the Isabela area again. Special thanks to Juan Francisco, the team who manages the beautiful farm on property, and everyone on staff. They all went above and beyond and I'm so grateful.

This hotel is idyllic for couples on a romantic getaway! The rooms are "Casita-style" each with a private jacuzzi. Extremely courteous staff more than willing to go the extra mile for your comfort. The views are just spectacular everywhere you look! Would definitely come back!

Total disappointment
If what you are looking for is a place with spectacular views, Royal Isabela is undoubtedly an excellent option. However, if your priority is to receive exceptional service and for what was contracted for such an important event to be faithfully fulfilled, our experience was very different.
On July 11, my daughter celebrated her wedding at Royal Isabela. For a full year we planned this day with great excitement and dedication. We even traveled beforehand to do the menu tasting, trusting that everything agreed upon would be carried out.
Unfortunately, on the day of the event, the banquet did not comply with what was stipulated in the contract. During dinner, the included sodas, tea, and coffee were not offered, and, to our surprise, the wine that was supposed to accompany the meal was not served either. As a consequence, our guests had to enjoy dinner only with water, something that should never have happened at a celebration of this level.
The next day, I expressed my concern to Ms. Joan González, hoping for an explanation and a fair solution. To my surprise, I was told that our 64 guests had consumed approximately 250 sodas, a claim that does not correspond to the reality of what happened during the reception.
The process to request a refund turned out to be equally disappointing. After insisting on several occasions, I was referred to Ms. Elizabeth, with the hope of resolving the situation. However, the result was the same. Finally, a refund was authorized, but not for the actual value of the services that were not provided, but rather for an amount determined by the hotel, without an explanation to justify said calculation.
Another aspect that significantly affected the flow of the wedding was the service during dinner. Under the supervision of the head waiter, Mr. Pedro, the plating took nearly two hours for a relatively small wedding. This caused a considerable delay in the event's itinerary and affected moments that had been carefully planned for months.
We chose Royal Isabela for its prestige, for the excellence that is talked about so much, and for the high expectations that its name generates. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that reputation. Such a beautiful place deserves service that is up to the standard of its facilities.
I share this review not with the purpose of discrediting the hotel, but so that other couples and families make all the necessary clarifications before signing a contract and before celebrating one of the most important days of their lives. I hope our experience serves so that future clients receive the excellent service that we expected and that, unfortunately, we did not obtain.

If you are looking for tranquility this is the place for you. The views are breathtaking and what postcards and painting are based off of. The property is meticulously maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We did have a few miscommunications but they always made sure to correct it. The food is what you would expect at a five star resort and they delivered every time. The rooms/casitas are very private with your own plunge pools
It’s set on a 2000 acre reserve. The food is locally sourced and the vegetables are grown on the grounds. Make sure you reserve a spot for yoga on the 17th hole which overlooks the ocean, weather permitting! We did sunrise yoga. We also took advantage of the in room massages which were done so professionally! Well worth it!
The food is made to order so plan on a bit of a wait. But I can assure you it’s well worth it. The portions are generous! Take the walk to the secluded beach that only accessible to the resort. You can’t swim there but it’s stunning and a bit of a hike. Well worth it!
The resort is gated so you do feel secure and they pick you up with a golf cart to bring you to your casita. Great service especially at night. It’s dark!
Even with the remodeling work on several casitas it was hardly noticeable.
If you love golf this course looks amazing! Unfortunately we don’t play.
