An excellent, peaceful resort with great diving
We were there for the diving which was excellent. The dive centre was well organised and our dive guide June, who we had to ourselves, was wonderful. He seemed to find everything we wanted to see and more, including two ghost nudis with eggs, the melibe colemani.
We had a full board package. The food was excellent and plentiful. The only criticism being that the portions were on the large size and I hate leaving waste so I’m now feeling a bit heavier. I have made a list of the quinoa salad ingredients to try making it at home.
Overall a great holiday and we look forward to returning and also trying out the other Solitude resort and liveaboards.

The Real Deal Says this could be a 4 Star resort easily, unfortunately...
Now for the issues. First of all, the location is definitely a less developed part of the world to put it mildly. As you approach the hotel, you're going to think you've made a mistake because of how rural/poor/ undeveloped it is. The second issue are the stairs. People have mentioned it, but I believe it's well over a hundred stairs from the pool to the office, and these are not small stairs. So plan on going up and down 100 to 200 stairs a day just to go to dinner, diving swimming, your room Etc. The third issue is the constant smell of sewage, which never went away. I was in room 301, one of the largest rooms there and had to move because the sewage smell on that side of the hotel was literally coming through the air conditioning vents and woke me up at 3.15am. I mentioned this to multiple people there, and they all said well maybe we're just used to it. I was there for 6 days, and I never got used to it. It's also a shame because it's particularly heavy just as you enter the place where you're going to eat which is not very appetizing. The final issue with this location is that it's a dive resort. And nothing else. If you bring a spouse who is not going to dive several times a day like you are, then you may have issues. There is a nice pool, but the beaches are not only in bad shape but also indications that sewage runs into the water there. I hate not to leave a five-star review for this place because all the people are wonderful. If they could clean up the sewage, you would literally have a four star dedicated Dive Resort. Hopefully, this fits with what you're looking for and also makes people who are not looking for this save them from being disappointed.
