Charming hotel in a wonderful old house

A delightful and well-kept 1860s house with fine courtyards, a wonderful garden and some sweet comfortable rooms to stay in. Has real character and very good value. Much recommend.

Well-run authentic small hotel near Huancayo

The Casona Ugarte León is a very nice hotel in the small town of Concepción, located a 20-minutes drive from the large city of Huancayo in the Mantaro Valley of Peru. The historic building, situated near the main square, has been carefully restored and offers an authentic Spanish-Andean atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast consisted of local products (coffee, fresh juices, typical bread, eggs, tamales, fruits, etc.). A fantastic small garden inside the patio house invited to relax. Rooms may be quite cold, especially during the dry season from May to October, but the warm service, hot teas and showers, and the comfortable beds make you resist the cold nights of the Peruvian Andes.
The tranquil Casona Ugarte León is a very good place to explore the rural Mantaro Valley. For those who want to stay or need to work in the somewhat chaothic city of Huancayo, this nice hotel can also be a very good alternative.

Acogedor, bonito y muy buena atención

Tiene un estilo colonial, hay un gato que te acompaña para darte calor y la estancia fue muy agradable. El personal muy atento me encanto. Recomiendo darse una vuelta.
Se encuentra en la plaza de Concepción, y tienes una linda vista.

Una joya en Concepción

Es un hotel muy particular: encierra historia, tradición, encanto y calidez; y se ubica dentro de la Casona Ugarte que data de antes de 1880 con su acentuado estilo arquitectónico de la época.
La ubicación de la Casona es céntrica y tiene dos accesos: el principal, que da al Jr. Grau (calle que te lleva directamente al punto de partida del Complejo de Piedra Parada) y el otro, que da a la Plaza de Concepción. Justamente en el segundo piso del patio que da a la Plaza se encuentra el Museo de la Casona, el cual a través de muchos ambientes -entre dormitorios, biblioteca, sala, comedor, bar y otros- conserva magníficamente una serie de objetos de la época y de períodos posteriores, desde reliquias de Andrés Avelino Cáceres, óleos históricos, huacos, hasta una Victrola de la época que esta perfectamente cuidada y que suena hasta el día de hoy.
Las habitaciones son simples, dobles o matrimonial. Son de tamaño mediano y son acogedoras. La cama es cómoda y cuenta con suficientes frazadas (de tigre claro está) para hacerle frente al frío de la Sierra. Brindan desayuno consistente en jugo, pan serrano (tipo chapla, de anís), infusión, queso y huevos revueltos. El personal es muy atento y amable.

Magnifica ubicación frente a la plaza principal de Concepción

Casona con mucha historia, es un museo que tenemos que visitar algún día de nuestra vida y conocer los hechos que ocurrieron en esta zona de nuestro Perú.Destino obligado de todos nuestros futuros viajes a esta zona del Valle del Mantaro.
