Dream holiday

magical place, spacious grounds, well-kept garden, delicious food (homemade bread, gluten-free too!), clean tasteful rooms (large, bright, superb bathrooms), atmospheric communal areas and the very best: The incredibly friendly, attentive staff: every single one!

Shimoni a quiet alternative

Shimoni is different. Remote, quiet, small village, little touristy, no beach, but especially underwater great (diving in Marine Park/ Reserve and Wasini Channel). Dolphin encounter guaranteed... diving and excursions with www.pillipipa.com very nice.
The lodge is simple but charming. Room clean and comfortable. Beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and sunset. Breakfast could be more varied.

A short stay with friends

The lodge it rather remote which was quite nice and gave a feeling of exclusivity.
Service was ok, but the staff were clearly bored and mostly on their phones which I personally don't find appropriate.
The chalets are pretty well kept on the inside, but the place definitely needs to work on beefing up it's image and leaving a better first impression.
The current construction made it feel like we were living on a building site where workers would be hammering away until midnight. Not so great.
Food was ok. I didn't have high expectations so it was fine for me to get through a few days. We were also able to have our own fish which we caught cooked and prepared which was a nice extra service provided by the chef.
Location is great, vistas as well that's for sure. A short trip to funzi, the marine park and wasini island all possible from this location which I can imagine is a big plus for those seeking such activities.

Excellent

Shimoni Reef Lodge is a magnificent hotel, located in an ideal place, especially if you are a snorkeling lover or fleeing places that are overcrowded by tourism.
Although the hotel needs some improvements, such as more water pressure in the showers or renewal of sheets, it is worth highlighting its cleanliness and, above all, the kindness and dedication offered by its employees.
We have stayed 4 nights, and the service offered is excellent... highlighting the professionalism and prudence of the waiters, the exquisite and abundant food that the chef offered us every day as well as the kindness of the reception, pool and cleaning staff.
Shimoni Reef Lodge is 100% recommended.

Good place to stay.

What a wonderful place to stay even in the low season. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and with everything I could have needed. The meals were excellent and really tasty. The fish was cooked beautifully, the breakfast was larger and very tasty.
