Great fish in Iceland!

Fabulous local place. Excellent fish and chips. A real treat after cruise ship food! Great local atmosphere. Friendly staff and patrons. Well worth a visit. Tip to cruise ship travelers - do this later in the day before your ship departs if you can. Much more local feel then!!

Multiple bites – be cautious

I stayed 1 night and woke up with multiple bites (5 large, very itchy welts). My friend also had bites. Symptoms started the next day, so I’m certain it happened at the hostel.
I reported it and sent photos, but their response was dismissive: they claimed nothing was found, offered no solution, no apology, and eventually stopped replying.
Very concerning experience and poor handling of a serious issue. I would not stay here again. Be cautious.

No parking

There is no parking, so this is not a good choice if you are driving.
The rooms are directly above a bar, which may not be conducive to quiet.
The building is as central to the tourist/pedestrian street as possible, which may be a positive (why I gave it an extra star) - but many other lodgings are within a ten minute walk and they are much nicer.

Stayed in shared accommodation.
Good sized room on 4th floor (no lift).
Shower & WC provision not too bad, but no basin or mirror (!) in room.
Shared kitchen inadequate
Extremely noisy bar next door.

Great food

We had a lovely lunch in here . I had a steak sandwich which was the best I have had in a long time, my husband had chicken BBQ sandwiches all so very good. Would definitely recommend going to this bar
