Good place to stay for traveling

We stayed here for two nights whilst traveling Europe. Perfect location, bus stop right outside the front door. 2 minute walk from Osdorfer Strabe station for the tram (S25/26 goes to the city centre in roughly 25 mins). The room was good, we payed for a private room, two single beds and we paid extra for bed linen. We got a set of keys, one for our own room and the other for the front door. We left early in the morning which was no problem for checking out.
All round great stay!

Single Room

I booked a single room and have no complaints. There room had a comfy bed (although the pillows are very flimsy!), a chair, a bedside cabinet, wardrobe and ensuite bathroom. There was a good wifi signal (wifi was free) and the free breakfast was great! There is a fridge and cutlery in a communal kitchen if you wanted to store your own food. I checked in outside of reception hours and the process of obtaining the key was straightforward.
You can see the property from the S Bahn station (Osdorfer Strasse). A tip: when you get off the train, walk down the platform in the direction the train has been travelling. You will see two exits in short succession - take the first one. The property is about 30 seconds on your left.
When I stayed, there were very few guests. Some reviews have highlighted the problem of noise. I wouldn't be hesitant to stay here if school groups were staying because the noise would carry.

Recommendation

The cheapest I could find in Berlin...Good connection to public transport service, big supermarket near. Good breakfast, clean facilities, old and poor furniture. Lots of loud young people, some old grumpy people...

Big and fresh!

The hostel is located 15-20 minutes from the central station, it sounds like much but it really isn't that bad. It's very very easy to get from the centrum to the hostel with trams- they go all the time. Also, there's some supermarkets a few minutes from the hostel, a McDonald as we'll.
The 6 dorm room is very big and fresh! The breakfast served every morning is excellent- a lot of different toppings to choose between (sandwich) and juice coffee fruits and so on.
The hostel has a backyard, perfect if you're traveling in a group and want to throw frees bee or just take some sun.
We were a big group traveling together (6 people) and we lived at this hostel for three nights, we all recommend it!

Great breakfast for free but no wifi

Good point:
- delicious breakfast with wide selection like 3 types of bread, lots of ham, cheese, jam, milk, juice, cereals, coffee, tea, etc. from 8 to 9.30
- nice room, showers and toilets
- welcome cookies is a nice touch
- reception people were nice and helpful
- just a few steps from S Bahn 25 which will take you to city center in about 20 mins
Bad point:
- no wifi or internet connection of any kind
- we booked a double room, the bed was double but the mattress was 2 single ones but it was soft and comfy enough for couples
- very small kitchen, only for tea and warming food, there is microwave and fridge only, no dining area, you have to take your food to your room, but at least you don't have to wash the dishes, just leave them there and somebody from the hostel will wash them for you
