A very nice cocoon where it is good to live!

Room and table d'hôtes really exceptional. Ideal concept when traveling alone!
Great stay of 2 nights and 2 meals at Catherine and Jacques in their superb chalet decorated with great taste.
Thank you for your warm welcome. we feel good at home and with you. it's like home!
Meals and breakfast with homemade brioche as a bonus. Nice break in your beautiful area. I will be back with great pleasure.
Don't change anything.

A week in the mountains to remember!

Very welcome, we had a great week. The meals were very good, it was local cuisine for our great happiness, the room was comfortable and our hosts cared for.
We highly recommend!
Thanks to Jacques and Catherine for their dedication!

Like a homecoming

We had never met before but our hosts' reception was so warm it felt like a homecoming. And with a three-year-old, a baby and a dog, we are not the easiest family to welcome! We were put up in one big, cosy, family room that spilled out into the garden. Every request (and there were many) was accommodated, including lots of baby paraphernalia and an early home-cooked meal for the children. Catherine even thought to put pillows under my son's bottom so that he could reach the table! He particularly enjoyed eating the food that he had helped her collect, such as the boiled hens' eggs as part of her daily rounds of their pristine and lively farm.
The meals were delicious with homemade brioche (Jacques willingly let us watch him make it) served in the morning alongside big soup-bowls full of fresh coffee. The atmosphere of the chambre d'hote in the evening was the perfect antidote to the increasing dominance of soulless online exchanges we are all bound to undertake. We conversed merrily with an array of guests (including an alchemist!) of all different ages and backgrounds over delicious meals of local fish, cheese and fresh salads accompanied by generous portions of French wine as we watched the twilight deepen behind the mighty Alps.
From the garden, my three-year-old loved watching the nearby parachutists float down from the summits behind towards Lake Geneva. But the biggest hit was of course the donkey rides and he struck up quite an affinity for the sure-footed "Attila" (nothing like the eponymous Hun!). As the four of us meandered through the idyllic villages, we met many locals who knew us as guests of the Pre de la Basse and greeted us affectionately (one kind lady even gave us a jar of apricot jam). It was so enchanting it almost felt like our visit belonged to a lost era. If they will have us, we will definitely be back!

Donkey walk!

Came here to do the famous donkey walk! The three donkeys they have seem to be well taken care of. After a quick explanation you are given a donkey to take on a 1,5h tour. Do not expect to be carried by them as it gets quite steep at some areas and the donkeys can not really carry heavy people but that does not matter because they are loads of fun to be around with. Very friendly and hungry animals.

Magnifique

Merciiiii... ✌️
