A pleasant farm stay

Chateau de Buchy is more of a manor house than a classic chateau, but it offers spacious rooms, anmple breakfasts and comfortable beds in a character-ful house on a working farm. It’s within half an hour of Metz. On Monday the local dining options are a bit limited, but there are several restaurants within 15 minutes in nearby villages. The chateau’s owner, Yannick, was hospitable and helpful, and his dogs, Nala and Psycho, were delightful. We appreciated Yannick’s gracious response when we revealed that we were leaving a day early - he said he would be happy to refund us, an offer we appreciated but declined. One caution: the mosquitoes of Buchy were persistent

This was a wonderful place. I would have made this a destination rather than a quick overnight into France. The building is charing and historic but with nicely updated rooms, comfortable beds and bedding, and lovely farm views. The breakfast was wonderful. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. The setting is serene and beautiful. And the whole stay was very affordable.

What a find this was... We could have happily spent a few days here but we were only passing through this time en route to se France.
There was a nice, family-run feel to this accommodation. Jannick was there to meet and welcome us and shake hands in person. He couldn't do enough for us to be honest whilst we were there.
The accomodation was perfect for us. It's is in a very old building but we loved the character and feel of the place. It is surrounded by peaceful countryside.
The accomodation was clean throughout.
The breakfast spread was impressive and Jannick regularly checked that we were happy with what was offered.
When it was time to leave, we had a personal 'goodbye' from Jannick.
All in all, we were very happy with our time spent here and wouldn't hesitate to use this place again should we ever be in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Charming property! Very warm welcome, lovely big family room, comfortable beds and delightful home made continental breakfast. If you want nightlife on your doorstep this isn’t your place, but if you want a cosy and classically French stopover with a great host then this is a great bet.
