Wonderful host
We (2 adults and 2 children aged 13 & 10) stayed here for one night on route home from a holiday in France. We found the location easily and there was ample free car parking across the road. I hadn't read my booking notice (via booking.com) in full and did not realise I was supposed to email in advance to advise my arrival time however when we turned up at 3.30pm I buzzed and the lovely owner arrived to open the gate for me. She showed me to the room (called Paris and on the top floor.) There was a large room with a double bed, table & chairs, a TV, sink, dresser and a few things such as kettle, cups etc. Across from a small hall was a separate bedroom with a double bed and a settee and then a separate bathroom with a power shower, toilet, sink etc. This is not a hotel as such, it appears to be a house with 3 mini apartments. It is a wonderful, old, quirky property situated under the chateau. The owner was so welcoming and when I said we did not want breakfast because we were rushing to catch a ferry she insisted she would bring something up to us. At 8.30am she arrived with a breakfast basket including coffee, hot chocolate, croissants, orange juice, fruit etc - really appreciated. She has tried very hard to make the rooms welcoming with flowers, ornaments, cushions, soaps, photographs etc. On the evening we arrived we walked in to the local village Petit Andelys and had a lovely meal - there are a few restaurants. I would definitely recommend this, I intend to book for a couple of nights again to visit the local area as it looked lovely but we did not have time to appreciate it.

Disappointing attention
Having been greeted warmly at the garden door, right on the road facing the River Seine, hopes were high that this would be 'a find'!
The bedroom was large, well furnished and overlooked a flat roof to the Seine. The shower cubicle was modern and included body spray jets as well as the usual shower options.
That was pretty much the last time the proprietor was seen, but not heard in the run up to Bastille Day. Messages had to be left in writing over several days culminating with having the last night disturbed by upstairs bedroom activity that gave a new meaning to 'banque' holiday.
All very disappointing. It may possibly be a new business but customer satisfaction seemed to come second.
