Modern room without ventilation and air conditioning

The room was 25°C and no possibility of ventilation or cooling with air conditioning. There was only one window and no possibility of penetration. Even with the window open all night, with 14°C outside, the room did not cool down because the wind was quiet. It is surprising that in Denmark in 2026 you can experience so little room with such poor indoor climate. Besides the room, we were otherwise well satisfied. However, I learned that we were 3 minutes late for a welcome drink which we might not get - but we could hurry down there and ask for it. We had paid 1.650 kr. including this welcome drink. Welcome.

Couple on trip without children

Super nice hotel. But the hotel lures everyone else and they lack something that does they lack something that makes them something that they are. The food was good but lacked some taste and energy. The city is fantastic and the view was lovely.

Mixed picture, recommended for a long-weekend

I recommend the Hotel Sondeborg Strand for a long-weekend or a family event with elder family members. The location is excellent and there is free parking infront of the hotel which is also very convenient, and the service is good. I slept on the couch with my son, and found it quite hard.
The price-value-for-money can definitely be better since several things were missing in my opinion from the suite which cost 2448 DK per night:
- a fan or portable air conditioner since it was hot in the room
- a small fridge to store cold drinks
- a safe
- the toilet smelled
- safe closure for the windows to prevent a child from falling out
- a way to dial reception/telephone
- optional also a bug net for the windows
Overall I recommend the hotel for a short stay but not a week as we did.

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location, the view from your suite, the breakfast and the friendly service from our team. It is also lovely to know that our restaurant was able to offer alternative dishes when the menu selection did not quite meet your wishes.
At the same time, we fully understand your disappointment with the room, particularly considering the price of your stay. A suite should feel comfortable, practical and well equipped throughout the entire visit, and it is clear that several details did not meet that expectation.
We are following up on the unpleasant smell from the toilet and the lack of ventilation, as both should be addressed. Your comments regarding a fan, refrigerator, safe and a way to contact reception from the room will also be included in our review of the room facilities.
We take your observation about the windows especially seriously. The safety of our guests is extremely important to us, and we will have the window solution reviewed to ensure that it is suitable for families staying with younger children. We will also look into whether insect screens could be a useful addition.
Thank you again for highlighting both what worked well and where we need to improve.
