Fabulous food, truly pitiful room.

This is a hotel my family and I have frequented since the early sixties, my aunt, my mom, myself with my husband and my children. The location is pretty wonderful being directly on the St-Lawrence River. Most of the building dates quite a ways back although there have been recent additions through the years. This has created a warm atmosphere in the common rooms with the restaurant being quite spectacular due to its view. The rooms….. well we chose a superior King room. Not sure I actually got that even though there was a king bed. If it was superior, I would certainly not want to try a standard. The bed was the worst I have ever had. The bathroom was adequate and the shower has been renovated and quite decent. For the price charged for the night, I’ve had sooo much better in larger cities with the same attractions. The value simply isn’t there. The star of the hotel is their restaurant. The food and the service are top notch. More than top notch. The receptionist before 4:00 pm was charming.

The mattress was so outdated that it was rather painful for the back to sleep on it. So there was no rest. It feels like the mattresses were already worth throwing away back in 1970. The armchairs in the room were also covered in century old grease and probably never cleaned. Our room was on the second floor with steep staircase and no lift and it was quite an exercise. The only advantage of the motel is its location - walking distance to the ferry

Excellent motel at the ferry exit

We had chosen this hotel on the road between the north coast and Montreal after having crossed back by ferry at Matane.
We loved this motel with its prime location along a St. Lawrence beach just 4 minutes by car from the ferry landing since we were disembarking there at 8 p.m. The welcome at the hotel was very friendly and provided good advice for the restaurant.
The room was spacious, clean, bathroom and shower very good, nothing to complain about.
Magical buffet breakfast with a splendid view of the St. Lawrence on a beautiful sunny morning. Staff very attentive. Thank you.
