Great rooms but minor annoyances
This hotel is lovely. Modern feel and very clean, with good communal areas. We didn’t use the spa/pool but it looked good.
Rooms - we had a suite which was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable and bathrooms were good with plenty of space. Perfect for a family of 4. Couldn’t fault the room at all.
Food - we ate at Carve 4 times (2 breakfasts and 2 dinners). Very good and service was great.
We went to the Velocity driving range facility. The food and service for the food/drinks was good. However, our bay didn’t work properly. The ball feed was broken and the screen didn’t register all shots. We raised this several times and they tried to re-set it, but it didn’t work. We got a refund on the bay hire, but the staff didn’t seem surprised at it not working and thought it may be to do with the position of the sun. It’s clearly an issue they’ve had before. Be aware as well that they only have one type of club to hire (standard men’s length - no women’s or long men’s clubs available)
Reception needs improving. The staff there are friendly and helpful, but on check out there was only 1 person on front desk and I had to wait a few minutes whilst they were on the phone. There was no one on the door to help with bags on arrival at 4pm, or at departure at 9.30am, so we struggled. There are baggage trolleys so I assume the idea is that someone can help but we couldn’t see anyone.
Another minor annoyance is that on two occasions, only 3 bath towels were left in the bathroom. We had to phone down twice to request extra (the room was booked for 4 people). Once is fine, as mistakes happen, but twice is annoying.
This hotel is good, and I’d happily return, but a few things need tweaking to make it great.

We enjoyed our two night getaway. The hotel was well maintained and staff were welcoming and helpful. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable but we especially liked sitting in the beautiful gardens with fire pits for drinks. It was a very nice touch in a beautiful setting. The Carve restaurant served delicious food with excellent service. We would definitely return to this resort.

Beautiful large rooms with very luxurious comfy beds. Molton Brown products in the bright and spacious bathroom. Ryan looked after us very well in the bar - and all the staff were super friendly. Dinner was excellent although a little slow due to staff shortages. The rooms are not well soundproofed between floors which is surprising. And I suspect the golf course rooms may offer a nice view than Oceanside - which was partial at best from our room. Would have loved to stay another night.

I was delighted with this exceptional hotel. You get so much for a reasonable rate. The swimming pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub all impeccable. The room was enormous and very comfortable. The balcony was a nice bonus. The stay here was extremely pleasant. They have a gorgeous golf course.

Lovely property inside and out with very comfy beds. There were private lessons going on in the swimming pool so that wasn't great for us.
