Fabulous stay in a gorgeous home with the wonderful Barbara

Such a very special place!
We chose to stay at Haus Mayerhofer because we wanted to stay in a traditional home in St Gilgen. Our room was beautiful and the balcony was a lovely addition.
The breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious.
But the absolute highlight is Barbara. She is so friendly and helpful and made our stay extremely special.
We would highly recommend!

the place to stay!

We have just returned to Ireland after a wonderful week in the Austrian resort of St Gilgen. Our vacation was greatly enhanced by our stay at Haus Mayerhofer. We were given Room 9 - a self contained flat comprising a kitchen diner (with cooker, fridge and dishwasher), an alcove and balcony, a double bedroom and toilet/shower room, all in immaculate condition. Breakfast was provided as an optional extra. Our hostess, Barbara, could not have been more helpful and attentive. It is a short walk from Haus Mayerhofer to Lake St Wolfgang, the bus station (40 minutes or so to Salzburg) the cable car and the amazing musical instrument museum. We recommend Haus Mayerhofer unreservedly.

Courtesy, kindness and professionalism

We always return gladly to this very quaint place best run by Mrs Barbara. Our first stay dates back to 1997 when the property was run by Mrs Barbara's mother and if after so many years we still go back it means that we really enjoy it. Mrs Barbara is always affable and kind and involves us in long and pleasant chats in a mixture of German -English especially during breakfasts which are particularly tasty and hearty. We are already thinking of returning to stay here for the Christmas markets (work permitting).

Traditional and Welcoming

We stayed for 6 nights and had the downstairs one bedroom apartment. Our host Barbara could not have been more welcoming or helpful. If you like to stay somewhere traditional and a little quirky this 14th century house is the place! There was a good kitchen and bathroom, a very comfy bed and a little view of the mountain. Haus Mayerhofer is in the centre of the village, 5 minutes walk from the lakeside, the cable car and the ferries. There is a big supermarket a 10 minute walk away. Enjoy!
