Pension Rainer in Ellmau the only place to stay - Perfect in all ways!

We stayed in the Pension Rainer, Ellmau for a week in February and absolutely loved our stay here! Andrea was so welcoming and friendly and made our stay perfect. Gabriella made the best breakfasts we have had anywhere, so varied and everything delicious. The Pension is spotless with rooms serviced and cleaned every day, there was nothing we needed. The area to keep your skis and boots was very well thought out. Pension Rainer is in a central location with easy access to all the shops, bars, cafe, restaurants and bus stops for other ski slopes. The ski shop below is excellent too and recommended. Although central, is was peaceful and quiet. The views from our room were stunning. Everything has been thought out and perfect for a relaxing and and enjoyable stay. We were sorry to leave and would love to return to Pension Rainer again. We can highly recommend staying here. A very big thank you to Andrea, Gabriella and Ramona for making are stay so very special. Jill & Warren xx

Ok pension

If you don't compare it to a hotel, it's great.
There is no aircon, and no fan, and since the door to the hallway is not tight, everything can be heard in the hallway. There is no electric stove in the room, but restaurants etc are nearby. Remember to bring yourself shampoo etc.
To get up to the reception and rooms you need to climb the stairs. Breakfast is ok, that is a bit different. The best thing about the place was that the lady that fits the place is friendly and helpful. There are 4 parking spaces if everyone parks nicely.

Great place, great team!

We had a wonderful week here!
Location is excellent, our apartment was great. The breakfasts are very tasty and plentiful!
Special thanks to Andi and his family, our hosts, who fulfilled all our needs!

The best accomodation in the area with the nicest staff

It was our fourth time here in Ellmau, and we always stayed at Pension Rainer. We will never look for another place to stay, as this one is far the best. The location is excellent, you can find every important location in a couple of minutes walk. The pension is well and modernly equipped.
The staff with Andrea in the lead position is awesome, they will go far beyond for the excellent customer service, and they are always around to make sure your experience is exceeding your expectations.
And finally the breakfast service is very good, fresh, with a wide range of selection. They also serve sugar-free options for people on special diet.
In overall, i would highly recommend this Pension for your next stay!

Nice pension in the heart of Ellmau

We have visited Ellmau many times over the past 20 years as we love the village. As the hotel we usually stay in was full, we decided to try Pension Rainer. Communication with the Pension before our trip was swift: our questions regarding the Covid rules at that time were answered quickly.
The pension itself is in the heart of Ellmau which we really like as you are close to all the action. Check in was smooth and we were updated about upcoming Covid rules in Austria. Be aware that there is no elevator and we had to carry our luggage up two long stairs. The corridors to the room were a bit outdated. The room however was modern and very clean. The only problem was that at our side of the pension the WiFi was a bit weak.
Breakfast was good and the host was really friendly and helpful. At check out we were surprised that the Pension accepted cash only. This was not a problem for us but in this day and age it is bit old fashioned with all modern and safer forms of payment: apparently Austrians still prefer cash.
