It’s a historic hotel, so the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful.
The view of the river from the window looks like something out of a fairy tale.
The breakfast room is also beautifully decorated in an antique style, which makes it especially charming.

Wonderful relaxing break

Lovely relaxing hotel, with attractive pool area and beautiful garden. Our bedroom was super comfortable and the views from the balcony were beautiful. The hotel is well situated and the location quiet and peaceful. Breakfasts were good, and the terraced dining room had lovely views out over the water. Our trout at dinner was delicious! Helpful staff, good cleaning service and amenities, and very good value for somewhere so special.

A bit of everything...nature, art, history, fine food and wonderful people

A wonderful hotel in an interesting and beautiful region. Peaceful, but with many things to do, particularly if you like to explore, either by walking, biking or hiking. Enjoy history, good wines, beautiful vineyards and forests, a challenging and scenic sculpture hike. The Richard Lowenherz is a piece of art & history itself. Amazing antiques and artwork, a historic landmark, in the center of a quaint village on the banks of the Danube. Wonderful staff, too.

Lovely place for a relaxing vacation

The historic hotel atmosphere is peaceful and bespoke. We greatly appreciated the excellent service in the restaurant, from the front desk staff, and from the housekeeping. Front desk was accommodating and helpful with the early checkout we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was great. Outside, the garden is lovely; the pool was chilly (even in July) but was clean and attractive. The location of the hotel is central within little Dürnstein. We appreciated the on-site bike rental. Overall, it was a great place to stay for our family.
