Travel Information

·         The airport is over 50km from the centre of Taipei, so expect the drive to take at least 45 minutes to an hour. You can make the process a little faster, by booking a car using Skyscanner’s car hire search tool so it is ready for you when you arrive. However, if you’d prefer to wait you can book a car at one of the rental agencies within the arrivals area of the terminals. Hop on the National Freeway 2, eastbound, and then hop on National Freeway 1, which will see you driving right into Taipei central.

·         There is a high-speed railway that runs between the airport and the centre of the city, though you must hop on the airport shuttle service to get to the station. You have to pay for the shuttle, but this only costs 30TWD ($1.25), with the train costing 160TWD ($7) for a one-way ticket.

·         Buses are also available to you for about 125TWD ($5), but can take longer than the train, at about an hour’s worth of journey time. Airport transfers can be booked with us online if you’d rather not catch public transport, and you don’t intend on driving.

·         Taxis are pretty expensive, they will cost you approximately 1250TWD ($52) for a fare to downtown Taipei, and will still take roughly 45-60 minutes.
