What to see & do
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden
Opened in 1875, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is the second oldest zoo in the country. It was established just 14 months after the Philadelphia Zoo, which opened on 1 July 1874. Some of the animals housed or that have been housed in the zoo have held records, such as the fastest cheetah in captivity, the longest living alligator in captivity (at the time), and the largest Komodo dragon. The zoo is also one of the few in North America to both house and breed the endangered species of bonobo. Other animals part of the Cincinnati Zoo's breeding programs are the Sumatran rhinoceros, South African cheetahs, western lowland gorillas, and Masai giraffes.
Taft Museum of Art
Taft Museum of Art is a museum listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The museum contains a collection of fine arts, once belonging to the Tafts. A family of avid art collectors, the Tafts turned their home into a museum, donated their Greek Revival house, and the art collection in it to the people of Cincinnati in 1927. On 29 November 1932, the Taft Museum was opened to the public. Highlights of the collection include The Cobbler's Apprentice by Frank Duveneck, Song of the Talking Wire by Henry Farny, Portrait of a Man Rising from His Chair by Rembrandt van Rijin, and At the Piano by James Abbott McNeill Whistler.

The American Sign Museum is a unique museum in Cincinnati that collects, preserves, archives, and displays collections of signage. There are over 200 signs and other objects on display, ranging from the late 19th century to the 1970s. The museum also features equipment used in the design and manufacture of signs.
How to get around
There is no light rail or working subway system in Cincinnati. The primary form of public transportation is by bus. Two different bus systems provide service: the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority operates Metro, which serves the Ohio side of the state line, and the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky, which serves Northern Kentucky and all of the routes between it and Cincinnati. The express bus lines are marked with an "X" and make less frequent stops. Cincinnati's main hub for Metro is Government Square, on Walnut Street. The most significant SORTA (Metro) Lines that pass through tourist sites are Routes 1, 72, and 71X. Taxis in Cincinnati have inconsistent fares due to the lax taxi regulations. Not many taxis have visible signs or lights that show its occupancy status, so you can just check through the windows if there are any passengers.
