Cleveland, a city in the state of Ohio, is situated in north-eastern Ohio, approximately 60 miles west of the Pennsylvania border. Owing to its location on the lake shore, Cleveland became a manufacturing centre of Ohio. Its location placed it in a strategic area that links to several canals and railroad lines. Its economic growth is driven by diversified sectors that include manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, and biomedical. The city has been given different nicknames including "Sixth City", "The Forest City", "Metropolis of the Western Reserve", "The Rock and Roll Capital of the World" and "C-Town". The city's financial district and Civic Centre can be found in Downtown Cleveland, along with numerous industrial and office buildings, and restaurants and bars. Inner-ring suburbs in the city include Bedford, Bedford Heights, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, among others. Cleveland boasts not only a diversified sector involved in business and the likes; the city also has some other facets in which it takes pride. It is home to the second largest performing arts centre in the United States, Playhouse Square Centre, which houses theatres such as Allen Theatre, Connor Palace, and Hanna Theatre. When it comes to literary contributions, Cleveland has a list of some well-known poets such as Hart Crane and Langston Hughes, who grew up in the city.

Cleveland has a host of attractions that drive the growth in the city's tourism industry, attracting thousands of tourists each year.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum - A unique museum designed by I.M. Pei, it is one of Cleveland's most famous attraction, popular especially among music enthusiasts. Within the museum are six floors dedicated to displaying the history of popular music. Cleveland Museum of Art - An art museum located in the Wade Park District, it features a wide collection of American art and medieval art from Europe and Asia, and has recently added galleries displaying Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indian, and Southeast Asian art.

Great Lakes Science Center - An ideal place to visit if you want a unique educational experience, Great Lakes Science Center has interactive displays depicting the history of life on the great lakes. A six-story OMNIMAX theatre can be found inside the facility, where non-fiction films are played.

How to get around within Cleveland

Travelling around Cleveland is made easy with roads constructed broad enough for vehicular transportation. Finding attractions and other tourist spots is also an easy task as the streets are numbered both in the city and in the suburbs. Public transportation includes bus and rail transit systems which are operated by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. You can also navigate through Cleveland by bike.

How to get there

You can fly into Cleveland by plane to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, which is only 13 miles southwest of Downtown. Other airports that serve Cleveland include Akron-Canton Airport, Burke Lakefront Airport, and Cuyahoga County Airport. From the airport, you can go by car to interstate highways that will bring you to the city proper. Trains and buses are another option to get to the city from the airport.
