The Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport(GDN) is the key gateway airport for not only Gdansk, but also Sopot and Gdynia along Poland’s north coast. There has been flights to Gdansk since the early 1900s, but this particular airport was built in 1974 and has been serving Gdansk ever since. Passengers can fly to over 50 European destinations directly from this airport, making this a pretty comprehensive hub.
This is a spotless and modern facility, with two terminals, and a good array of amenities. There is an executive lounge for passengers wanting to relax during transit, and there are quite a few eateries that you can also make use of if you’re feeling hungry. There are coffee shops, bistros, snack kiosks and restaurants that you can choose from. There are also a few shops selling gifts, travel accessories and local souvenirs and handicrafts, as well as a well-stocked duty free outlet on the first floor.
Free WiFi is available for 15 minutes, and then it switches to a paid service, you will also find a post office in the main hall. There are ATMs, and a currency exchange service too if you need to organise your money when you arrive.

· Car rental agencies are located in the main arrivals hall of the airport, and there are plenty of companies to choose from. · There are several bus routes running into the city, many to the main railway station in the city. Single fares range from 3 to 4.20PLN ($1-1.50) depending on which service you are taking. There are also tickets you can buy that last for up to 24 hours and work on all the local bus transport for about 13PLN ($4.50).
· Taxis service the airport around the clock, and during the day these can cost between 50-60PLN ($17-20), but expect this price to rise to around 70PLN ($24) if you are travelling at night. There are also private airport transfers available online, where you can review prices and book the cheapest, most convenient one.
