Close to town with a true woodsy atmosphere
This family friendly campground is quiet and well maintained. The pool, small dog park and playground are located away from the campsites ensuring calm for everyone.
There are common areas featuring gas fired bonfire pits and bocce ball at the end of the campgrounds so folks can gather without disturbing others.
The restrooms and showers were clean and could only be accessed via code to ensure safety.
The sites are a little tight but feature trees and shade. We had enough room to put up 2 tents. As we drove through town and saw other campgrounds, I thought we had the superior choice, only a 10 minute drive from town but with a woods like atmosphere.

Good, but a few issues
Only a few issues within this stay. They mentioned a pool with heating, but when me and my friend hopped in, it felt pretty cold. There was also a person cutting grass mid-day, making it a bit less peaceful. And lastly, the cabin itself is a bit small, it says you can house 6 people in there, but I'm with 5 other people and it feels a bit awkward and uncomfortable with how small the cabin is. Other than that, it was great! The nature was beautiful, views are amazing, staff is great. Would recommend for a small family stay if you're wanting something more natural then a hotel

Very nice campsite
Campsite very nice, quiet, extremely clean. Located in a beautiful hilly environment close to Durango. A small stream runs through the camp, and hummingbirds have been seen. Everything is done to have a good stay. Recommend

Great place for families
Four families met at this campground and had a wonderful experience. Our group ages were 3 to 70. Elders in the Aspen Lodge which was very well equipped with a fenced yard to corral kids and dogs. Between the heated pool, creek, basketball hoop and playground the 6 kids ages 3 to 15 were very entertained. Plenty of balls and pool toys to play with. Staff were helpful and friendly. Tent sites were very nice along creek. Pillow top bed in the cabin was very comfortable. Rented a fire pit at a reasonable price to make s’mores. Highly recommend this place for families with kids and dogs..

Nice wooded location, really tight spaces.
Nice RV park although the sites are really close together. Great trees and a stream running through the park. The RV Park has a nice dog play area, playground, and a heated pool. I really wanted to love this park, however the sites are so close together that it really felt cramped. Location is good for both Durango and Mesa Verde.
