Simple but affordable
Simple accommodation but affordable. Very helpful staff. Kitchens with free coffee and tea are available around the clock. Good home cooking for breakfast. Close, about 4-500 meters to the bus stop there but can go to Ishotellet or the city.

A small hotel with a kind owner
There was a museum of Sami culture in the basement, which was open to guests for free. I was surprised to receive an email from the hotel before my stay with details and very kind content such as check-in. It was the kindest email I have ever received from a hotel about check-in etc. Lisa, the manager, seems to be a wonderful person and runs the place by herself. The kitchen also had communal tableware, cooking utensils and seasonings. There is also a table where you can eat.

Very friendly
I stayed here one night as I didn't have the car yet and needed a place inside Kiruna. The rooms are very, very clean. Same with the bathroom. I met the nice lady who works in the hotel on Saturday morning, she came to clean the room. She offered me breakfast even though there is no breakfast on weekends and gave me a ride to the car rental company. I had an amazing stay.
I really do hope that she found the key eventually!

Experience Sami culture
This hotel is over the building of Sami Culture Center, we walked from Kiruna train station (about 15-20 minutes) . Restaurants & supermarket is on foot scope about 10-15 minutes. If you booked any activities there, you can walk 10-15 minutes to city center, where the tour companies located. The manager, Ms. Lisa, is a very nice girl. Before we arrive, we received email from her, who told us the detailed information for self check-in. The room is large & comfortable since heating system keeps room warm. There is a public kitchen & a small library, the guest can cook food or read books there. The breakfast is good. On the basement, it is small museum about Sami culture, the limited items displayed are very interesting, let guest get basic idea about Sami life.
PS: The reception is open from 7:00 - 15:00, suggest one contact hotel for the arrival time in advance, manager will leave the key in mailbox if guest arrive late.

A Really Good Place to Stay
We had 5 nights in total at Hotel Samegarden. This is not a 5 star hotel but the rooms are clean, warm and spacious. The hotel is also only 5 mins walk from town and about 12 mins walk from the railway station. The host, Lisa was fabulous, warm, welcoming and always available to answer anything we needed. Breakfast was very good, a selection of boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese and the usual cereals, breads, etc. Breakfast is only available week days but is good value for money. We would definitely stay here again.
