I would stay again for sure

I’m giving this hotel (and don’t be put off by the word hostel (it’s nothing like a share a bathroom full of students dormitory image that hostels have) it’s clean, well maintained perfect location quiet at night free Wi-Fi basic hotel. Each room is small but perfect for me and the wife. We wanted to not have to worry about public transport to get everywhere but still be close enough to transport hubs. We also wanted a secure base to leave our belongings when exploring the city. If you are looking for over the top luxury this isn’t for you. But if you are ok with a clean secure room with what you need for a decent price then why not.

Definitely not recommended

At the you-tube channel “España total” this accommodation was among a list of accommodations that could be booked without hesitation. Since the advice of “España total” is almost always good, I booked a room for 2 people (I traveled alone) for the price of 355 euros for this accommodation from April 12 to April 17, 2026. (see photo of the invoice) It was quite clear to me that it would not be a luxury accommodation, not a large room, that there would be no spectacular views and that the equipment would be outdated and possibly worn. All these disadvantages have been there as expected and I could live with all of that. But I did not expect the following disadvantages:
1.Going into the day asleep is impossible. And not so much because the bed is uncomfortable! I was unable to sleep continuously on any of the five nights, and on one I was even pulled out of sleep three times. And once awake, I could only fall asleep after an hour or so, because the persistent buzz did not stop, presumably triggered by the air conditioning of another room. Going to bed early is out of the question, because until the early hours you cannot prevent listening to the chatter of passersby. Room 301 (second floor) is so poorly insulated that you feel like you're sleeping in the middle of the street. And whenever a guest entered his room, it was unmissable. You get a bit of the road traffic, too.
2. The “persianas”, a type of roller blind that is now only available in Spain, could not be pulled up at all. The persiana in the bathroom should protect against foreign eyes, there has not been another privacy screen, for example a curtain. As for the persiana in the bedroom, however, you would like to pull it up to ventilate and thus a bit of light comes in and thus you do not feel like you are locked in, even if the view of the rooms of the opposite buildings is not too nice.
3. No ventilation and no heating in the bathroom as well as rust in many places in the shower cabin. The bedroom can only be heated by air conditioning. Since you cannot shower at 18 degrees Celsius (it was 18 degrees, I always put an internal thermometer in the bathroom and one in the bedroom), I had to heat the air conditioning in the bedroom to full pulley for an hour, leaving the door open. Thus, the temperature in the bath climbed to 21 degrees. But in the winter it is very cold in Granada and there will certainly be lower temperatures than 18 degrees in the bath...
4. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired: dead or living creatures in the drawers, thick visibility of dust under the bed, dirty windows, etc.
On the third day, in the evening, I got to see the boss by chance and I didn't let it go to complain. She suggested changing rooms. I didn't go into that, because I wouldn't feel much better in the downstairs room. I had read hja at booking.com a review of this room (with terrible photos!). All in all: with 355 euros I could have booked a reasonable accommodation and saved myself this bad experience.

Very basic accommodation

Our stay was okay and inexpensive but I would look elsewhere next time. There was a strong odor and the door locks were awkward. We were given 3 keys, one for the room and two different locks to enter the building. The hotel manager greeted us on arrival but we didn’t see her after that. We were there for 3 nights. Good shower and clean bathroom but the rooms were dreary and lacking any charm. No coffee or breakfast.

Buen regreso a casa.

Friendliness and location

Encarni, the person responsible for the hostal, is very helpful and friendly.
The location is central, the room is spacious and the bathroom is completely renovated with a delicious hot water shower.
