Do not go, terrible experience
I went with my family: 2 adults and 2 teenagers. First, very good. They do not have a physical reception, but the check-in process was easy. The opening of the doors, both the entrance and the room, through the mobile phone, was correct.
The bad thing is that when the reservation was already made, they indicated that we had reserved, paid, and checked in at the hostel, a shared room with 6 beds, and nowhere did it previously state that we had a shared room. I spent the entire journey from Madrid to Bilbao calling and sent an email to confirm whether we had to share a room. And no one answered me in any case. We did not want to share a room with strangers, especially going with children. If I did not make 17 calls, at least, to get a response from a voicemail. And no one replied to my email; however, that same morning they had responded very quickly for the check-in...
I was looking at reviews and saw, indeed, that there you could share rooms because it also functioned as a hostel...
Well, we were about to go to the concert and return to Madrid directly if we had to share a room.
When we arrived, we thought that if there was someone in our room, we would go back to Madrid. But there was no one. Since no one had responded to me, the truth is that every time someone passed near the door, I became worried that it was someone who had to sleep there.
It is true that I also thought that even if it stated that, perhaps we did not have to share a room. But I would have liked at least for them to have responded to my email to tell me something about it. I answered the phone.
On the other hand, it is a single room with 3 metal bunk beds that looked like they were from a prison. It was difficult to pass between them. One of them was stuck to the window, which could not be opened without moving the bunk bed. If you ever see a truck with livestock inside, they have a sort of space there that was not present in that room. 4 people and 3 bunk beds in a room that was already small.
The beds were unmade; we loved having to make the beds after a 400 km trip and a rock concert arriving at 1 in the morning… come on, there is nothing we would rather do than make the bed. On the other hand, the mattress covers looked like they had been washed, but some had small suspicious reddish stains. The sheets on my bed were speckled with mold due to humidity.
The bathroom had a suspicious hair in the shower, and the edge of the shower was dirty. The faucet of the bidet had a lot of yellowish dirt. It is noticeable that a very superficial cleaning is done every time. Because they have not done a deep cleaning there in, I dare say, years.
The walls were dirty, in some places with remnants of something that had dripped, the dim and yellowish light. The lockers were broken. It overlooked a courtyard that looked like it had been scrubbed with dirt.
Depressing. If it had not been because we were extremely tired and saw that there was no one else in the room, we would have preferred to sleep in the car. The pillows were very thin, the mattresses rather hard, and the blankets were extremely worn out.
And all of this, at an exorbitant price for the "service" provided and the type of accommodation they offer. We paid €237, and that was with an eDreams offer that saved us €80... in other words, without the offer, it would have cost more than €300 to be there.
Advice: do not go there.
